skate ski 1:02:00 [3] 10.5 km (5:54 / km)

at Tamarack in Mammoth. A foot of new snow friday morning, which hadn't packed down too well yet, so this was miserably soft.

classic ski 2:02:00 [3] 19.8 km (6:10 / km)

yea thats right dad: classic. the skating was so bad I had to resort to this. with all the slipping and the sliding and the sticky crap and the dude where's my kickzone.

skate ski 1:24:00 [3] 17.0 km (4:56 / km)

after a firebomb of a jalapeno calzone for lunch it had clouded over enough that the temps dropped 10 degrees and froze where the snowshoers had packed much of the main road. enough that skating was sort of possible again.

nice day. worthy of the long daytrip, especially since it seems that VT is the new LA when it comes to snowfall...

skate ski 2:45:00 [3] 35.0 km (4:43 / km)

Royal Gorge. they had "early season" conditions, which meant only 65km of trails open. about a foot and a half of snow, half the trails were fine, the other half had a little vegetation in places.

skate ski 2:45:00 [3] 36.0 km (4:35 / km)

afternoon. last hour without poles around the flat parts of the area.

kinda guessing on the distances for the day. according to the trail map I did 89km, but that seems a bit high for 5.5 hours.
