Temescal canyon. felt really good, even on the uphill half. I should take two weeks off more often. my elbow hurts for some reason.

hiking 2:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (24:00 / mi)

hiked to Manoa falls, then up along some sketchy herd path/bushwhack along the ridgeline. it rained for the first couple hours, even though it was still sunny.

run 45:00 [3] 5.5 mi (8:11 / mi)

from somewhere in Honolulu, around the outside of Diamond Head crater trying to find the way in (hiked up it later)

other (adventure race) 23:40:00 [3] 108.0 mi (13:09 / mi) +4850m 11:32 / mi

New England AR series finals with daddyo and Tracey Olafsen. paddle-bike-trek-rappel-trek-bike. navigation was pretty easy, we only got off trails/roads twice, and one of those was pretty trivial. biking was made interesting by renting a ratty mountain bike that was too small and wouldn't stay in low gear. 16,000' of climb!

hiking 3:00:00 [3] 16.0 mi (11:15 / mi)

back out to the car. 6ish hours plus nap time. pictures.

Sunday Sep 5, 2004 #

hiking 3:00:00 [3] 12.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Moved camp from Bearpaw up the trail another 4 miles to Hamilton Lakes. Dropped stuff and dayhiked the HST up to Kaweah Gap, then climbed Mt Stewart and Eagle Scout Peak (one on each side of the gap). A lot of dynamite went into the making of this trail. Much of it was just blasted out of the side of vertical cliffs, with the occasional tunnel or two. There was more exposure on the trail than there was climbing the peaks... Got back just after dark.

Saturday Sep 4, 2004 #

hiking 3:00:00 [3] 12.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

High Sierra trail from Cresent Meadow to Bearpaw. Got a late start (2:00) because the windy narrow 60 mile road to the trailhead was packed with old people going 15mph. on labor day weekend. who would have thought. 4 or 5 hours.
