Running race (Road Runners) 23:53 [5] 4.95 km (4:50 / km) +33m 4:40 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

Roadies at Lake Albert. Ran the medium distance today to save some energy for golf later in the day (waste of time - 30 points!!). Pushed pretty hard and felt good the whole way.

Morning run, usual loop, down to the Waterworks Park and return today. Needed the headlamp to get down the hill at the start. A bit sore after my forest battles on Sunday.

Orienteering race (ACT Middle Dist Champs) 1:14:39 [5] ***** 5.49 km (13:36 / km) +162m 11:51 / km
spiked:13/17c shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

ACT Middle at Honeysuckle Creek. This one is up there amongst my worst runs ever!! Started well, jog/walk to 1, 2 and 3. Missed 4: too high and wandered around for what seemed like 10 minutes but was probably only 5 before I got it. 5 and 6 good then major failure at 7. Exited 6 with no plan and in the wrong direction, thru a marsh and across the road. Felt there was something wrong (the marsh was on the other side of the road!) but didn't stop. Ended up in thick rubbish to the right of the control. Eventually went back to the road and relocated but lost probably 12 minutes (it was 190m leg that took me 15+ minutes). Rest were ok as I slowed down and tried hard to plan and read the map. A bit short on 9 and then low on 14. Not good training for Easter!
