Orienteering race (Australian Long Champs) 1:10:11 [5] **** 7.65 km (9:10 / km) +157m 8:19 / km
spiked:10/14c shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

Australian Long at Chapel Flat. Indifferent start, missing the obvious route choice. 2 through to 5 were all good and hit 6 ok but ran out of 5 too wide to the left, loosing some time with extra climb and distance. Big error on 7, again going left from the previous control and taking some time to relocate. 8 to 10 ok but slow as the hot weather hit me. Silly error on 11, not trusting original plan and stopping short and right of control. Real struggle up the hill to the last couple.

Orienteering race (Aust Sprint Champs) 14:09 [5] *** 2.45 km (5:47 / km) +2m 5:45 / km
spiked:20/23c shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 15 yellow

Sprint Champs at St Patrick's College Ballarat. Very small area that required a map change on my 2.2km course (and other shorter courses!). Happy with run apart from 10 and 16, losing at least 20secs on each, effectively costing me about 5 places in a tight field.

shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 16 Blue

Afternoon run from Briohny's place back home via the Lake. Very pleasant running conditions. First run in (old) new shoes, Nimbus 16's, which I bought in Dec last year! Bought a pair of 17's 2 weeks ago but they won't get worn for a while yet:-)

Down to the river via the powerline track and cemetery then along to the beach. Turned around and went back. Nice morning for a run.
