Checking controls at Connorton ahead of next weekends Middle Distance Champs. Nice bright new flags make some of the controls very "spottable"!

Fantastic day to be in the bush: hope our competitors get the same conditions next weekend!

Spoke to the landowner as I was leaving and she is just SO GOOD to us: stock will be moved and all gates will be open, gave me so tips on parking in case of wet weather. We are very lucky to have access here!

Latish ride after lazy morning (last for a few weeks!). Magpies out and about! Out to Rawlings via Mitchell Rd, a loop around to the horse paddock - first swooper, saved by low trees - then out of Rawlings and around the end of the Lake. Up to Plumpton Rd past the golf course and then "crack" on the helmet as 2nd swooper caught me unawares. He had a 2nd go but again tree cover saved me. Home via Kooringal Rd.

Out to Pomingalarna for a last check on a couple of controls on the Easy and V Easy courses, mainly looking at whether taping would be needed.
