Orienteering race (State League 11) 1:01:25 [5] **** 6.64 km (9:15 / km) +178m 8:10 / km
spiked:7/10c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 350

Belanglo SF for SL 11. Long format today with lots of green, some quite thick. Overall a poorer effort despite not making such a monumental error as yesterday. Slow and a liitle wide on 1 (+1 min) good 2 through 5, uncertain on track for 6 but ended up where I wanted to be for route east of big rock outcrop (+1) , no real plan on 7 and ended up very wide and was lucky to relocate off a track (+2). 8 was OK but should have gone right out of 7 and then up along the rockface where veg was more friendly (+1). 9 took the wrong track and had to double back then overshot the gap in the rock line and went down when the control was near the top (+2). 10 was good but then managed to lose my SI stick when a branch flicked my hand. Realised straight away and was able to find it on the ground but lost another minute for a total of about 8 minutes!

Orienteering race (Stste League 10) 54:38 [5] *** 5.75 km (9:30 / km) +127m 8:33 / km
spiked:11/13c shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

State League at Mittagong. Ok for most of the race but hesitations on 6 and 9 (seemed to be much more rock on the ground than map near 9!) then total fade out at 12, losing about 8 minutes. Had no plan whatsoever when leaving 11 and did not check location when I crossed the track! Fitness pretty good but lack of recent O racing cost me today.

Note: looked at splits and I was leadng O-ing by over 2 minutes leaving 11 and then lost exactly 10 minutes to him on 12! He also made a few errors so clearly should have beaten me anyway but still very frustrating.

Running (Long) 1:30:13 [3] 15.8 km (5:43 / km) +80m 5:34 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 15 white/blue

Rare mid-week long run - needed some more k's ahead of the Half next month. Managed to get away early from work so ran out to Rawlings Park and then down to the Lake and back home. Steady run but right knee a little sore afterwards.
