Orienteering race (Vic SL and NOL) 1:18:17 [4] 5.27 km (14:51 / km) +56m 14:06 / km
shoes: Salomon Trail

Middle Distance at Rowdy Flat. Ran course 2 and made a good start through 3 then made the sort of error that can happen here on 4 and lost about 10 minutes. OK 5 thru 12 with some time lost on both 7 and 12. 13 proved too hard (although it was far from the hardest control today) despite several attempts so headed back for my 2nd DNF in 2 weeks. Not a great start to the season but the only way is up!

Cycling 1:01:31 [3] 19.86 km (3:06 / km) +124m 3:00 / km

Morning ride from home - usual route out to Rawlings but added an extra loop in the reserve. Quite dark at that time of the morning....

Running 35:57 [3] 6.69 km (5:22 / km) +33m 5:15 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 14 2nd pair w

Afternoon lap of the Lake plus a side track out to Plumpton Rd. Warm but not uncomfortable and felt good for the first 4 or so km. Struggled with fitness and a head wind for the last couple of kms but good to get out again.

Orienteering race (1st Interclub with AWOC) 1:14:25 [4] *** 6.86 km (10:51 / km) +284m 8:59 / km
spiked:7/15c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 350

Ist Interclub on the aptly named Mt Terrible map just north of Albury. A good start but missed 2 badly and then a little high on 4. Good 5 through to 8, then came # 9. No problems with nav as I spiked it but we climbed 17 contours, which in itself is no big issue but we then had to go back down again (about 12 contours) and then back up again (another 10 contours), ruining an otherwise pretty good course from a first time setter. My lack of fitness really hit here and I missed 10 altogether by poor (fatigued) map reading and was almost at 11 before I realised so decided discretion was appropriate and pulled the pin.
