Running race (Road Runners at CSU) 24:53 [3] 4.93 km (5:03 / km) +73m 4:42 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 13

First Roadies in about 6 weeks. Out at CSU so a hilly course! Only did the short. Took it pretty steady and was pleased with my pace up the hill. Backed off the last 500m or so as hammy started to get a bit tight.

Cycling 50:30 [3] 16.81 km (3:00 / km) +160m 2:52 / km

Afternoon ride from home down to Kooringal Rd then down to the levee bank and along the river. Went all the way to Wiradjiri Bridge then headed along Travers St and picked up the bike path around the Racecourse and onto Moorong St. Used a semi trailer as "shelter" on the busy Sturt Hwy roundabout (I figured any cars would have to go through the semi to hit me!) and onto Pearson St with the afternoon traffic up to the hump bridge.

Turned onto Urana St and headed east to Baden Powell Drive and the steep climb up Willan's Hill. Halfway up turned off onto the single track and battled up to the top. Back out onto the bitumen for a very fast descent to Lake Rd and then through Kooringal and back home.

Running 32:54 [3] 6.01 km (5:29 / km) +23m 5:23 / km
shoes: Salomon Trail

Afternoon run with Deb, Briohny and Darcy. My first run with Bri since she had Ryder:-) Ran in Rawlings Park so Darcy could be off leash. My right hammy is a bit tight after 3 races on the weekend.

Orienteering race (SL 5 (Long)) 58:33 [5] **** 7.94 km (7:22 / km) +115m 6:52 / km
spiked:7/9c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 350

Another good run making it 3 for the weekend! Deb and I both managed 3 placing, with a win each, out of 3 events!

A much improved run on this area than at QBIII a couple of years ago with only a minor mistake at #1 then another at #6 when I found #7 first (about 150m - I actually felt I was too far right when running but didn't correct enough). Those errors plus my lack of fitness (on the long track leg to #2 especially) meant I was 2 minutes behind James in 2nd place but still very happy with the result today and overall for the weekend. Distance is by my Garmin, course distance was 6.3km.

A great weekand of Orienteering organised by the Newcastle club: good maps, great courses and excellent organisation - thanks again for the early starts today to allow us to get away home! Well done and thanks.
