Orienteering (Club training weekend) 1:00:00 [3] ***
shoes: Helly Hansen Trailcutter

Helped place some controls and then ran a couple of short contour loops on the old Cyanide Dam map near Chiltern. Map still very good despite being 25 years old!

Did the first loop without a compass and was pretty happy except for the last control so decided to run the last 2 again, this time with compass, but I totally blew the 2nd last one (which embarassingly was on of the ones I had put out in the morning) and I had just found 15 minutes earlier.

2nd loop much better in a slightly more technical mining area.

Running 46:15 [3] 8.85 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Afternoon run after getting back from Deniliquin. Ran along Faye Ave from the Kooringal shops where Deb left me after shopping out to Kooringal Rd then out to the Lake and around the eastern and southern sides and then home via the Boat Club and golf course.

Light rain most of the way and very muggy also. Hard work after a couple of slack days with limited exercise and too much food/grog intake!

Off to Beechworth tomorrow for a club social/training weekend. Currently raining heavily here (and there too I think!)

Note
(rest day)

Sort of rest day. Managed 9 holes at Deniliquin after work today. Just about as good as it gets weather-wise, golf OK too.

Convening job interviews tomorrow so will be a long day I think.

Cycling 36:10 [4] 13.25 km (2:44 / km)

Afternoon cycle: borrowed Briohny's bike so I could test one with fork suspension. My poor old thing has fixed forks! Was OK but bike is a bit small for me.

Variation on my normal Lake Albert - Rawlings loop, a bit shorter as was a bit late. Good fast session and good fun!

More dead fish on the Lake today - can't be too many left now. Just glad they didn't pop up on Saturday, would have spoiled some of the wedding photos, not to mention the smell!

Running 1:10:20 [3] 13.45 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Afternoon long run: Plumpton, Boiling Down, Redbank rds and home via the Boat Club. I wore Briohny's Garmin (she's not needing it on her honeymoon!) and after some frustration, worked out how to get it going. Will need some more practice if I am to use it at upcoming Orienteering events!

I think seeing my k/rate made me push a bit harder than I have previously on this run so a reasonably good time, esp as I usually run it in the morning when it is quite a bit cooler.

Note
(rest day)

Post wedding breakfast at our place meant no long run this morning and just too weary after 2 full-on days to do anything else today!
