Running race 30:06 [5] 6.5 km (4:38 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 9

Last Roadies race of the year, handicap at the Beach and across to North Wagga flats and return. A bit of a stuffy head and leg soreness from yesterday's intervals but managed to pick up the pace after a slow start and recorded a reasonable time.

Probably should take about 30 seconds off the time as I and another runner had to rescue an elderly lady, or more correctly her MTB which she had hopped off to avoid the runners and it was in danger of sliding down the levee bank! Her husband was blissfully unaware of all this as he was riding ahead :-) He did finally realise and came back and thanked us!

Orienteering race (Street O) 47:00 [5] * 8.9 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 9

First Summer street event in Kooringal. No warm up and felt really flat after 3 days with no running. Navigation and route choice was also poor and ended up 2 minutes over on a 45 min score event, so 10 penalty points dropped me to a total of only 105. Rain part way around was nice but made the map a bit soggy!

Street violence in Warrawong St: ran past a group of slightly "unsober" folk, one of whom appeared to have been king hit and was lying on the ground motionless. Plenty of other people around so decided to stay well away from the scene! Heard an ambulance about 5 minutes later and this was confirmed by other runners!
