Running race 42:37 [3] 8.5 km (5:01 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Road runners at Pomingalarna. A good course but lots of climb esp in the first half. Got off the main tracks and onto some of the MTB trails which was good. Just missed the 5 min km mark by 7 seconds!

Running 41:15 [3] 7.8 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Piked on the Harbour Bridge run - too much concrete for my poor old knees. Did much the same as yesterday which allowed me to run on the grass a lot. An extra loop through the Botanic Gardens instead of the Domain today. Another nice afternoon, a little cooler than yesterday but great for running.

Running 42:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:36 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Very scenic and enjoyable afternoon run in Sydney city (down for staff development). From the hotel in Phillip St, thru the Domain and Botanic Gardens to the Opera House then around the harbour side to Garden Island and back to the Domain where I did a second loop to get the time beyond 40 min, then back to the hotel.

So many people out and about down by the harbour and in the Domain, but not very a friendly lot - not one acknowledgement from a fellow runner, not at all like home!

Hoping to do the Harbour Bridge run tomorrow arvo.

Orienteering race 1:16:15 [3] 9.6 km (7:57 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuca trail

Canberra Classic: 3 loops of varying length, with multiple splits to separate runners on the mass start. At 9.6km (same as W21E), this was the longest course I have run in about 2 years!

1st loop was pretty clean, with a few seconds here and there. 2nd not so good with large error (3-4 minutes) on the first control. Steady after that as I realised I would be off the pace and wanted to minimise further errors. Missed 8 by 30 seconds. Had the short loop last (thank goodness!) and this was just about clean, with a small (20 sec) error on 1 and another small hesitation on 5.

Despite the length, felt pretty good right through and the courses were good. Must say that the organisers went to a LOT of work, with chest numbers with our names and individually printed maps for each course (runner number and each split).
