Running 32:30 [3] 5.7 km (5:42 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Afternoon run from home. Out the back gate and down the track on Rocky Hill. The track took me through the Cemetery (somewhere I have never run before, anywhere!) and out to Kooringal Rd. I then ran down to the Sturt Hwy on the cycle path and turned around at the Marshall's Creek bridge (exactly 3km) and then ran back the way I had come. Stopped at the base of the steep climb about 300m from home and walked up the hill.

WMOC in Hungary starts 4 weeks today. Is there still time to get fit??

Note 1/6/11: checked the website this morning and competition doesn't actually start until 2nd July so have an extra 3 days to get fit!

4km (40 minutes) evening walk in Griffith after a late afternoon meeting.

Cycling 38:00 [3] 14.3 km (2:39 / km)

Shortish morning cycle from Namoi St where I dropped the car for Deb who had run there. Out through Springdale then along Plumpton, Gregado, Mitchell, Kyeamba, Vincent and Kooringal Rds and then onto Churchill and home.
3 PM

Note

Afternoon walk with Deb, Briohny and Darcy-dog around the full track on Rocky Hill behind our house. About 3kms but very hilly (steep down - flat - steep up - undulating!). Darcy was funny trying to chase mice - there were a few about but they were too quick for him.

There is so much great granite on this hill! Even though it is quite a small area, the more I see of it, the more I think I should map it....maybe a project coming up (but not until after Europe and after the Aust Relays and Schools)

Back in time to watch the Hawks comfortably beat the Dogs :-)

Running race (Road Runners at CSU) 36:50 [4] 7.3 km (5:03 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Road Runners handicap day at CSU. I started with Briohny as neither of us had a handicap time but she quickly pulled away and I ran and chatted with Jeff. We were moving along nicely at 4:30 km pace for a while! Very hilly course today which wasn't great for my adbuctor strain and Jeff also pulled awsy in the 2nd half but I was surprised to catch Bri again on the last big hill as she was having troubles of her own:-( I had to shorten stride drastically over the last couple of kms to ease the strain on my leg but generally enjoyed the run.

Running 50:20 [3] 8.0 km (6:18 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

Sunday morning run along the coast path from Coogee to Tamarama and return with Briohny. Great morning for running and lots of people out. Pretty tough run with lots of sharp ups and downs including lots of steps. Deb started with us and ran to the Cemetery and back.

We were up in Sydney for a football weekend. Saturday night at the SFS with the Murphy's to watch the Waratahs put a on Jekyl and Hyde performance, leading 27-5 at halftime and holding on to win 27-12 over the Lions. Enjoyable pre-match meal and catch up with Terry, Helen, Catherine and Patrick at the ground. Thanks for organising Catherine and Terry!

Sunday afternoon at the SCG to see the Hawks grind down the Swans in the first half, leading by just 4 points before running away with the game with a 7 goal 3rd quarter to eventually win 106-60! Great weekend but a long drive home tonight! Left Deb up there as she has a 2 day meeting Monday and Tuesday.

Running 35:00 [3] 6.5 km (5:23 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 12

First run since last Saturday week after being away playing golf all week! Played 135 holes over the 6 days so got plenty of walking in!

Ran along Churchill and Simpkin then down to Kooringal Rd then north on the road and cycleway to the Sturt Hwy at Marchall's Creek then back towards town. South up Lake Rd and then home via the local streets. Tough last kilometre or so as it is all up hill! Garmin died at the 4km mark so distance and time are a guestimate.

spiked:7/9c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 270

After Deb and Briohny had run in the Mother's Day Classic in Canberra, we went up to Black Mountain and I ran in the "Back to Blacky" 40 year anniversary event.

Ran the Red 3 course as didn't want to be there all day! The black and white map at scale 4" to 1 mile scale was a challenge at first but adapted ok. Silly error on 1 when not aligning map correctly but then clean through 7. Going into 8 I lost my map and had to go back about 50 metres to retrieve. Then had lots of trouble with 9: got too high in the gully and when I went down, I saw a gully junction with a control but "reasoned" it wasn't mine as it was on a bend, forgetting that the map was 40 years old and a bit of erosion may have taken place. Lost close to 3 minutes here and to make matters worse, I couldn't find the Finish!! Another 2 minutes, so a good run turned bad with 5 minutes lost right at the end.

Otherwise a good fun event and I am glad a had a run. Distance is by Garmin.

Running 29:00 [3] 5.4 km (5:22 / km)

Probably last run from old house to new after final clean up. Forgot my watch so time is a guestimate.

Quick shower then we drove to Canberra where i will be support crew for Deb and Briohny who are running in the Mother's Day classic tomorrow. I might then have a run in the "Back to Black" event!

Physio session with a few new exercises. Physio managed to find a knot in my right abductor and the pain she inflicted on me was rather severe! She apologised in advance for any bruising...

Running 51:20 [3] 9.7 km (5:18 / km)

Ran from our old house to the new one via the southern end of the lake. Good to get out and stretch the legs as the arms and back have had plenty of stretching over a very busy weekend moving house!
