Running 28:22 [2] 5.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Morning run down to the Boat Club then along past the golf course and back home via Lansdowne. Longest run so far and feeling OK. Slowly getting the running rythm back but need to remember to drink more before a run. Found a tap at the Boat Club!

Sunday Dec 30, 2007 #

Cycling 40:00 [2] 12.5 km (3:12 / km)

Later this morning (a latish night out last night) and quite a bit hotter. Same route as yesterday until the end of Rawlings and then headed along Brunskill and Lake Albert Rds to rejoin the cycle track around the Lake and back to the Boat Club and home. 24 birds species this morning!

Saturday Dec 29, 2007 #

Cycling 44:00 [2] 12.2 km (3:36 / km)

Morning ride out to the Boat Club, past the Lake and across Rawlings Park to Brunskills Rd and back again. Had a couple of stops to chat to a few people, including a friend bird spotting (feathered varierty!) so a bit slow. I was inspired after that to see how many different birds species I could count and made 17.

Running 27:00 [1] 4.0 km (6:45 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Same run as yesterday (yep, running 2 days in a row!). Out early to beat the oncoming heat (and before work). Won't push my luck and will be back on the bike tomorrow - will go early again as it is due to hit 37 here tomorrow and 39 Sunday/Monday.

Note

Just looked at the week long temperature forecast for Wagga:

Sat 36, Sun 37, Mon 37, Tues 37, Wed 42, Thurs 40, Fri 42: glad I'll be in Sydney for the Test from Wednesday!

Deniliquin is worse: 40, 44, 42, 44, 43, 42, 42.........

Thursday Dec 27, 2007 #

Running 26:00 [1] 4.0 km (6:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Morning run: managed a bit further today, down to the Boat Club and return at a slow but steady pace. Using the elastic knee support helped a lot and pulled up OK. It's actually quite difficult getting used to the mechanics of running again, after such a long break. The extra weight from not eating any less for the last 5 months probably doesn't help either!

Tuesday Dec 25, 2007 #

Cycling 38:00 [3] 8.0 km (4:45 / km)

Christmas morning cycle around Lake Albert. Met Briohny coming the other way (on foot) so turned around and kept her company (and moving at a good pace) back home.

Sunday Dec 23, 2007 #

Cycling 35:00 [2] 10.0 km (3:30 / km)

Decided to try the "real" bike this morning. A lap of the Lake from home. A bit windy but a nice ride and felt good.

Friday Dec 21, 2007 #

Cycling 30:00 [2] 12.3 km (2:26 / km)

Back on the exercise bike on the back patio for a nice session watching the rain fall over Wagga! Looks like it might rain all night.

Wednesday Dec 19, 2007 #

Note

Strolled around 18 holes of golf today. A few spots of rain at the start then a nice cool afternoon. Very patchy form with 34pts but left a LOT out there.

Tuesday Dec 18, 2007 #

Running 13:30 [1] 2.0 km (6:45 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Finally back running (I use that word loosely) but managed a couple of very slow kms with no major effects. A little soreness otherwise OK. First blue bar on my log since Aug 18!

Monday Dec 17, 2007 #

Cycling 35:00 [3] 14.5 km (2:25 / km)

Back on the exercise bike after a rest day. Knee was quite sore after 2 days in the bush. Felt pretty good tonight so might venture out for a short jog tomorrow.

Wednesday Dec 12, 2007 #

Cycling 32:00 [3] 13.75 km (2:20 / km)

Pace and time increase on exercise bike. Prob no entry tomorrow as it is work Christmas Party! Then off to Dubbo Friday to check out a few control sites for Easter.

Tuesday Dec 11, 2007 #

Cycling 30:00 [3] 12.5 km (2:24 / km)

Exercise bike. Pushed it a bit harder again tonight after sitting in a meeting in Sydney all day and eating too much. Knee feeling really good!

Sunday Dec 9, 2007 #

Orienteering 1:35:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuca trail

Walked around putting out controls for todays sprint event at CSU, and then collected half of them afterwards. Not realy training but I will claim anything at the moment!

Saturday Dec 8, 2007 #

Cycling 30:00 [2] 11.6 km (2:35 / km)

Back on the exercise bike after a couple of days break for other exercise! 30 mins again but pushed the tempo up a bit and felt pretty good.

Thursday Dec 6, 2007 #

Orienteering 33:00 [1] 3.8 km (8:41 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 8

Summer series score event in Kooringal. Walked the 30 min event but didn't plan it too well as I was back late and lost a few points. Anyway, was good to get out again. Might try a run in another week or so.

Wednesday Dec 5, 2007 #

Note

Back on the golf course this arvo. Played quite well after a 4 week enforced spell. 39 points, enough to drop a shot off my handicap, first time it has gone down in over a year. Back down to 16!

Tuesday Dec 4, 2007 #

Note

Rest day today (actually, went out to an Indian restaurant for a friends birthday, so didn't really feel like hitting the bike on a FULL stomach!)

Monday Dec 3, 2007 #

Cycling 30:00 [3] 10.75 km (2:47 / km)

Another 30 minutes on exercise bike at a steady pace and knee feeling pretty good. Might step it up again tomorrow. Now logged 7 days out of last 8! Pity I haven't gone anywhere!

Sunday Dec 2, 2007 #

Cycling 30:00 [3] 10.5 km (2:51 / km)

Another slight increase in time. Knee a bit stiff after the drive to Orange and back over the weekend. Still a bit of soreness in the joint and some swelling.
