Running 31:50 [3] 6.1 km (5:13 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Shorter morning run from home via Boat Club and near side of the Lake then home through O'Halloran Park. Great morning for running but energy levels low. Think I need more sleep!

Running 1:06:20 [3] 12.0 km (5:32 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning longish run with Briohny from home. Round the end of the Lake and out into and around Rawlings Park. Both of us found it tough going this morning with soreness as well as the humidity and we bailed out of going a bit longer. Still a good run and nice to have company.

Running race 32:45 [5] 6.8 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Last Roadies event of the year. Handicap race at Tourist Centre. Due to handicap starts, I ran by myself for most of course, only passing a couple ahead of me and being passed by a few of the back markers. A little slower than last week but was still fairly happy with the effort. Lucky with the weather as it pelted down later on the afternoon, just as we were finishing the paving at Briohny's! Darcy certainly enjoyed the rain but we didn't:-)

Orienteering race (Street O) 43:15 [4] 7.8 km (5:33 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

First Street O for the summer at Glenfield Park. Very warm to start but wind swung round to the south and it was quite nice by the time I finished.

Planned what I thought was a decent route but came unstuck after just 3 controls when I ran into a permanently locked gate and had to backtrack a long way to get around (note to self: update the map!!). Generally happy with nav and running but didn't judge the time too well, as got back with almost 2 minutes to spare.

Running 40:23 [3] 7.6 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Slow and steady run around the Lake after work. Pretty warm and pace dropped steadily after a resonable start.

Cycling 42:00 [3] 12.9 km (3:15 / km)

Decided to add a few hills to the ride today but was probably a bit too adventurous. Headed up onto Tatton ridge but the initial climb was just too steep and had to get off and walk twice! Once up the top, followed the fire trail (marathon course) to the top and then out onto Holbrook Rd, into Springvale and across to Plumpton Rd then down to the Lake and a did half a lap before heading home via O'Halloran Park and Red Hill Rd.

Time and distance are best guess as Garmin froze up tonight when I tried to upload and I had to reset it. Despite the manual claiming data and settings would remain, all were lost. Checked the forums and it is a well known issue (but little acknowledgement by Garmin). Luckily only lost today's session as had uploaded everything previously.

Running race (Road Runners) 32:20 [5] 6.8 km (4:45 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Roadies from the Tourist Info Centre again. Warm but not as humid as last week and time a little quicker which was good.

Running 54:30 [3] 10.0 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning run from home with Briohny. Did the full lap of the Lake. Cold at the start but warmed up OK and enjoyed the company.

Cycling 44:00 [3] 14.3 km (3:05 / km)

Afternoon ride around the Lake and Rawlings Pk.

Note

Fortunate enough to get an invite to play golf at NSW Golf Club today. Magnificent course, easily the best I have played (top 5 in Australia I think), with greens especially superb, great to putt on. The weather smiled on us too, with the sun out for most of the day, although it became a little windy later in the round. My golf was patchy but still a great day.

Running 1:07:20 [3] 12.2 km (5:31 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning long(ish) run. Managed to get out between rain showers but still very humid. Felt pretty good for the first half but the conditions got to me a bit and struggled on the way home. Had hoped to go a bit longer but still pleased to get a bit of time and distance under the belt, especially as I won't get a run in over the next 2 days due to Sydney trip.

Running race (Road Runners) 32:55 [5] 6.8 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Roadies at the river. Morning rain meant the humidity was way up there today and that made it very hard work. Probably went out a bit fast and struggled on the second half but overall pretty happy with the run.

Running 54:10 [3] 10.1 km (5:22 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning run around the Lake. Found it hard going this morning, struggling to get any rhythm at all. Despite the early start, it was quite warm and had to convince myself to do the full lap and not take the shortcut down Lansdowne Ave.

Let's see if this works: http://connect.garmin.com/player/56397807

Running 39:20 [3] 7.5 km (5:15 / km)

Out and back run to the BBQ shed in Apex Park via Boat Club. Pretty warm this arvo so made sure I went past the taps!

Cycling 45:10 [4] 15.3 km (2:57 / km)

Afternoon cycle in the Lake Albert - Rawlings Park area. Bike is good after a recent service!

Running 37:40 [3] 7.3 km (5:10 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Ran home from Bolton Park in town after helping out at our Paddy Pallin event. We had a few newcomers which is a positive.

Had inteneded to extend the run by going around the Lake but was feeling too hot and thirsty so headed straight for home.

Running 28:00 [2] 4.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning run in Sydney. An easy run with Deb from Bronte to Bondi and return, slowing to look at the sculptures and to avoid the crowds! Also stopped and had a quick chat with the Chalmers/Rothery clan (Caroline, Cath, Eoin and Aoife) who were just starting out (in the increasing rain) on the sculpture walk.

Friday Nov 5, 2010 #

Note

Drove to Sydney with Deb to collect new car (and drop off old one). Despite the impending wet weather, we decided to head out the the SCG to watch the Aust v Sri Lanka ODI. Was a bad decision, not so much because of the rain, but because Australia were generally pathetic!! One of the most sub-standard bowling and fielding efforts I can remember watching from an Aust team. We cut our losses after the 3rd rain break and went back to the hotel, so were spared the poor batting display.

One highlight was having a quick word with Michael Slater, whom I played club cricket with in Wagga many years back.

Running 53:20 [3] 10.0 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Morning run with Briohny from her house. Same run as a couple of weeks back but no rain today! Nice morning and a good run.

Running 38:20 [4] 7.75 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 11 2nd pair

Lap of the lake from home but went in the opposite direction (clockwise) today just for a change! Nice and tight to start after weekend manual labouring exertions (paving at Briohny's) but loosened up nicely and held a goodish pace all the way.
