Running 39:20 [3] 7.5 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Enjoyable morning run along the Murray River at Tooleybuc. Quite cool especially as it was high 30's yesterday. Had to get a run in this morning as I had a 5 hour drive back to Wagga and then plane to Sydney this afternoon for meeting tomorrow!

Monday Nov 27, 2006 #

Running 32:00 [4] 6.5 km (4:55 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Afternoon run in Deniliquin State Forest, along the Edward River. A bit hot so didn't run for too long. Good leg stretch after 3 hours in the car.

Orienteering race 13:12 [3] 1.9 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Random Relays: ended up running one loop to even up the numbers! Actually beat Briohny's time but I suppose I had the "slight" advantage of having put the controls out! Was pretty hot but it was a fun event for everyone and a couple of cold drinks at the end helped.

Note

Went back out and picked up some of the controls afterwards.

Orienteering (Control placing) 2:00:00 [2] 4.0 km (30:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Putting out controls for Random Relays tomorrow. Out early but still very hot by the time I finished. Better put some water out tomorrow.

Friday Nov 24, 2006 #

Running 38:20 [3] 7.5 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Asics 2100s

Easy morning run around Lake Albert with Briohny. Actually quite cool this morning but I'm sure that won't last!

Wednesday Nov 22, 2006 #

Golf (walking) 4:00:00 [2] 6.0 km (40:00 / km)
shoes: Proline

Good to be out of the office. Weather was great (not as hot as expected), company good, pity about the standard of golf! Highlight was eagle putt on 6th (missed but got birdie). 19th was also enjoyable!

Tuesday Nov 21, 2006 #

Running 36:40 [3] 7.0 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Had planned a morning run but didn't plan on waking at 5:15am! Up at 5:45 and glad I got out early as today turned out a stinker! Usual Lake run to water stop and return. Passed Bri somewhere going the other way but didn't see her - must have been on the other track! More relaxing tomorrow - Golf day!

Sunday Nov 19, 2006 #

Running 1:03:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Morning (not too early) run out to Mitchell Rd and return. NIce run, used camelbak for first time in ages and took a while to get used to the slooshing about!

Friday Nov 17, 2006 #

Running 36:30 [3] 7.0 km (5:13 / km)
shoes: Asics 2100s

Nice afternoon run halfway around the lake to the water stop at the BBQ shed, then turned around and came back home. Golf course looking good ahead of 3rd and 4th rds of Club Champs on the weekend. Pity I'm not playing!

Note
(rest day)

Went out to Connorton map with Pauline (planner) to check out possible assembly areas for Badge event next March. Settled on a very nice spot in a part of the map not much used. Good access and parking close by, plenty of shade (will probably be hot!), nice level area. In the old Ostrich paddock but they don't have them any more!

Tuesday Nov 14, 2006 #

Running 46:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Asics 2100s

Ran the Red Hill-Bourkelands-Springdale loop for the first time in about 6 months. Bourkelands and Hilltop have just about joined up with all the new houses being built - don't know where all the people are coming from! Enjoyed the run, plenty of hills compared to the Lake and Rawlings runs but cooler weather was good for running and held a steady pace.

Orienteering 40:10 [3] *** 5.6 km (7:10 / km)
spiked:8/11c shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Local club event at Pomingalarna. NIce run in cooler, rainy weather. A few problems with navigation on 3 controls, mainly just lazy map reading.

Spent a couple of hours in the afternoon with Briohny doing the initial field check on the new map for next year's NSW Sprint Champs. Should be an excellent area.

Saturday Nov 11, 2006 #

Running 30:33 [4] 6.4 km (4:46 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Wagga Road Runners North Wagga flats. Hot, as you would expect for 1:00pm! Nice run but surprised by keeping pace with Briohny, eventually finishing together. She had difficulties with her breathing - couldn't seem to get the air in - explains why I caught her!

Friday Nov 10, 2006 #

Running 39:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:34 / km)
shoes: Asics 2100s

First morning run of the summer. Ran round Lake Albert with Briohny and felt like we were going fast! Checked the time at the Boat Club Rd and actually 30 sec slower than same point on Tuesday! Legs still asleep!

Thursday Nov 9, 2006 #

Golf 3:30:00 [3] 6.0 km (35:00 / km)
shoes: Proline

Finally some civilised exercise! 18 holes at the Country Club. Played pretty average except for a hot run of 5 holes - par, par, birdie, bogie, par - in the middle of the first 9 to be just one over handicap after 9. Only managed one more par for the day after that.

Tuesday Nov 7, 2006 #

Running 55:40 [3] 11.0 km (5:04 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave Trail

Rawlings Park run. Past the golf course again! Looks in fine shape so looking forward to finally getting back out for a hit on Thursday. Run started much better than last week so went a bit further but calves/achilles in both legs tightened up about halfway. Not sure why: have worn these shoes many times before with no ill effects. Very sore by the time I got home.

Sunday Nov 5, 2006 #

Note

Control tagging day 3: Sunday fine and sunny. Covered a fair bit of ground but no where near finished by lunchtime. Long drive back home. Listened to NSW v SA Pura Cup as NSW went from 4 for 1 to 6 for 42 then Stuart Clarke smashed 62 in 37 balls to get the Blues home! Very tired but still managed to watch the Aussies skittle WI in Champions Trophy.

Saturday Nov 4, 2006 #

Note

Control tagging day 2: Saturday morning. Heavy rain during the night but looked to be clearing as we headed out. Met Rob V on map. Started to rain about lunchtime and that slowed us down a lot. Realised we would not get finished this weekend!

Friday Nov 3, 2006 #

Note

Early start, 5 hr drive to Dubbo to start tagging next years Oz Champs sites. 1/2 day in field with Controller Ron. Slow and steady!
