Well!
115 minutes of flying, with very little wind, so ridge soaring wasn't going to work. But the lapse rate and buoyancy/shear ratio were good, I guess (whatever they are), which meant that we had thermals. And that meant that I got to push my PR for altitude up to 5160 feet (my old PR was 3620 feet).
The logged part of this was
vehicle retrieval, because we didn't have a designated driver today, so I volunteered to go up on foot to get the truck. About half on trails, and half through the woods, obviously including some hellaciously steep stuff. I think there's room for improvement on the route choice, although this was okay.
