Over in the Lakes for a couple of days. Lovely route from Wasdale taking in a few hills. Not in a particular rush, so explored a bit and took in the views. Warm enough that drinking was the big challenge. Nice day out.

Orienteering race 31:50 [5] 6.47 km (4:55 / km) +120m 4:30 / km

BOC relay, Middleton Park, M40 class. Andy ran a fantastic first leg to set Nick and I up with an easy race, and despite our best efforts to make things more interesting we managed a comfortable win. This was a great relay area with a nice arena that made for an excellent race. Even without much pressure it was very tricky to get the fiddly orienteering right, so it must have been much harder on first leg with folk all over the place.

Main gripe for this event is that the 40 class for men and women isn't the same race as open - it's just bonkers; it's not as if there are too many teams on the open, and it would make for a much more fun relay experience to have more teams in the mix.

I wonder how many relays I have run (and won) with Andy P? Counting BOCS, JKs and BUCS for ShUOC and SYO it must be quite a few.
