Cressbrook Crawl. New one for me and unusually I got the race tactics right today. Set off hard, but lost ground and places on the first big descent, hitting the bottom in about 10th. Had some work to do up the first climb and pulled up to 2nd behind Jake Lane. I basically hung on to his coat tails until near the top of the long final climb, where I mustered a faster finish than him. Great race with some stunning views and a free pint of ale at the finish. Fastest running I have done for ages!

Burbage Skyline. First run of this for many years, and a completely new route. Started as fast as I dared, but let a group of four go with Nathan leading them out. Soon established a big gap to the runners behind me and started working on Alex Hinchcliffe, who was being gapped as Nathan strung the lead group out. Made some progress, but never quite got on his heels and cruised in in 5th. Need to be braver at the start to avoid an early gap opening up.

Liked the new route, which had lots of short sharp climbs and a few technical rocky bits. Lovely evening for it!
