Morning ride to Owler Bar, Baslow, Stoney (including a very steep climb up above the village), Tideswell, Peak Forest, Bradwell, Hathersage. Ticked off some new roads and enjoyed myself in spite of a strong headwind all the way out.

Well this seemed like a good plan. In Durham for a conference so took my bike along. Thought I would bike to Darlington and catch my train there instead. Only problem was that I didn't have a map. Tried to memorise a nice route, but had to stop a few times to check my ipad. After a few kms it became apparent that I had probably been too ambitious, so a frenzied timetrial ensued. Legs were smashed by the time I rode into Darlington to make the train by the skin of my teeth. The hardest I have ever ridden.
