Thought I would put my chest to the map test; do I still worry about it when I'm busy concentrating on orienteering? Well the test was a failure with a shoulder stitch right from the start, but it eased throughout and didn't seem to slow me down too much. That I left to the my navigation, which left a lot to be desired. Not an exciting course, but that was fine by me/

Testing out the chest up to BHP. Better than yesterday. Pain centred on the sternum, current thinking is that it is a mild viral inflammation of the ribcage from the cold. But who knows.
The cold seems to have cleared up but my chest pains are still going strong. But only when I breathe. Or move. Tried an easy jog on the way home from the pub yesterday on the basis that a couple of pints would probably have relaxed everything. Within minutes I was wracked with stitches and reduced to a standstill. Current thinking is that it must be referred nerve pain from my back tweak, which would explain why it has got worse rather than better post Peris, while I have been neglecting mobility stuff. Now on ibuprofen plus lots of stretching and yoga. Let's see...

Hit the back mobility hard today and the stiffness had eased to the point where a jog seemed realistic. Up to BHP - the chest felt much better with some pain in the shoulder blades and a bit of discomfort on the downhill which I could relieve by tensing my core. Promising. The legs felt great, unsurprisingly. Was it not for the chest pain I would probably have trained through this cold, but in all honesty the rest seems to have done me good.
