Running 3:35:00 [2] 39.0 km (5:31 / km)

Got the train from York to Edale and ran back home via Hathersage with Rob and Gareth for the second half. I was grumpy to start with--too tired and not enough caffeine--and we bickered about training philosophies for the first hour or so. Perked up a bit after that thanks to the natural high of being out in the hills on a wet day, but the last half hour back along the top of Rivelin was a struggle.

I don't want to tempt fate, but ten days of high milage, mostly with a pack, mostly in flat shoes, seems to have more-or-less cured my plantar. Not a textbook solution.

Orienteering 28:10 [5] 6.0 km (4:42 / km)

2xsprint races at Clifton Backies in York. Seemed like an unpromising bit of scrubland, but it had loads of ruined WWII airfield bunkers scattered around some bushy woodland with lots of little trails, so it was really tricky. I felt pretty flat but managed to run alright once I had a map in my hand.

Running 40:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)

Warm up with Jegor and Josh, some jogging around between and ran back home with Jegor.
5 PM

Running 35:00 [3] 8.0 km (4:23 / km)

Spent the rest of the day walking around York seeing the sights. It was a struggle to drag myself out for an evening session up the Ings. Felt light headed but surprisingly effortless and ran at a comfortable pace.

Running 20:00 [2] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

Really quite dead today, and my siatic nerve seems to be irritated, giving me random sort of pains in my lower back when I stand up. Felt better for a short run, I think?

Running Drills 10:00 [3] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)

Quick set of drills, strides and sprints to make the run a bit more worthwhile.

Running 2:10:00 [2] 26.0 km (5:00 / km)

HFW with Rob and Alex. Porters, Burbage mines, Redmires, conduit, Head Stone, Rivelin. Nice and sociable, which helped me through it, feeling quite good and efficient by the end, but tired after.

Running 58:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:28 / km)

Up Loxley to Damflask and back the same way, about the flattest run possible from here. Felt tired but better than expected, the legs were moving fine apart from a bit of stiffness in my calves.
