Running 55:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:30 / km)

Up Loxley Valley with Jen including a few blackberry stops. Still not feeling great. Was meant to be running the LDMT today.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

On the mend, but still feel as though I have a stinking hangover. Didn't achieve much, made it out to see the Kaiser Chiefs in the evening.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Had a sleepless night with a bit of a fever and felt bad in the morning. Went to see the doctor, who diagnosed a urinry tract infection and gave me some antibiotics. Spent most of the day shivvering or sweating in bed.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

IW. Legs were on the sore side, but I felt much happier about that today, knowing that I had a hard session in them from last night, which seems to have blown away the cobwebs.

Circuits 10:00 [1]

5 PM

Running 1:40:00 intensity: (40:00 @2) + (1:00:00 @3) 20.0 km (5:00 / km)

HFW with Rob via Porter's, Ringinglow Road, Rivelin dam, Stannington. Wet wet wet right from the off which felt like a shock to the system. I went through a good patch for an hour or so, but then felt progressively worse.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

This morning my legs didn't feel good. In fact nothing felt good. How can an easy jog into work feel this bad?

Circuits 10:00 [1]

5 PM

Running 1:16:00 intensity: (30:00 @2) + (20:00 @3) + (26:00 @5) 16.0 km (4:45 / km)

HFW via Coppice Track for a set of Kenyan hills. I felt dreadful on the run up there, tired and spacey, and I told myself that if my times were slow on the first set then I would call it a day. To my surprise the first up and down were quick so I resigned myself to complete the full set of 6 and actually felt pretty strong by the end. Times were 3.47, 4.57, 3.50, 4.58, 3.52, 4.55, a bit wind assisted on the way up.

Good reminder that tiredness is often in the head and won't neccessarily impact on a good session. Wreck again on the way home though.

Cycling 1:15:00 intensity: (45:00 @2) + (30:00 @3)

Morning ride out to Ewden. Gusty on the tops so felt like hard work. Will spend a bit more time on the bike over the next few weeks to give the foot time to recover.
5 PM

Running 50:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:33 / km)

Loxley valley, ran quite fast for no good reason other than my legs felt good.
