Running race 33:35 [5] 10.0 km (3:22 / km)

Percy Pud 10km just up the road from our house. Woke up to horrible cold and rainy weather this morning and it didn't ease off until after the race when the sun came out, just to rub it in. Started hard and went through 5km in 16.33 then suffered badly from about 7km to finish in 33.35, beating my pb from last year by 18 seconds. The last km is all up hill along a straight road - you can see the inflatable arch on the horizon for about 800m and it just doesn't get any closer. Pure agony. Medicinal beans on cheese on toast at the Bakers' afterwards sorted me out.

Running 50:00 [2] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Run to the start via Rob and Clare's, a load of jogging about before the start. My mental preparation was thrown into disarray by a delayed start. Really, waiting on the start line dressed in a skimpy vest and shorts in the pissing rain, you do not need an extra 10 mins of hanging about. Then a nice downhill run home afterwards.

Running 30:00 [2] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

Hungover run with Rob over to Eccy road. Blew away a few cobwebs.

Friday Nov 30, 2007 #

Running 40:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)

Lunchtime jog up Loxley Valley.

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]

A session down t'works. Did a few gnarly routes.

Running Drills 20:00 [4] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)

Drills in Hillsborough Park. Nice and sunny and good to get out. Normal session with 6xsprints.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

Run there and back via Hillsborough.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)

Let my run until late and it was chucking it down with rain. Went out with a head torch up Rivelin to the coppice track. After a stressful day it felt like pure therapy.

Track session intervals 30:00 [5] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

Strides and drills then 4x1500 off 6 minutes (just for a change). Tired after the weekend but thought I would have a crack at it anyway. Ran OK, more consistent than last week and nice not to fade too much at the end. 4.45, 4.49, 4.52, 4.49.

Running 55:00 [2]

To track and back home with Rob and Mike.

Circuits 40:00 [3]

Hard session again, esp the side lifts and jumpy ones.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:27 / km)

Run to circuits, bit of warming up in the hall then a run after with Nails and Jon, trying (in vain) to convince Neil of the virtues of track training.
