Running 1:35:00 [3] 15.0 km (6:20 / km)

Long run from Hagg Farm, mostly with Hector who was setting a good pace. Very brisk up Win Hill, down to Heatherdene, up the Back Tor ridge, down to Fairholmes and back over Hagg Side. Amazing day, cold and sunny with great views, felt pretty tired towards the end, this is the longest run I have done for a long time.

Running 30:00 [4] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

Harder efforts up some of the hills.

Note

All in all an OK weekend, good to see people after quite a few months although it felt strange to have so many of the best guys and girls missing. Quite a few meetings and some motivating talks from Jamie and Heather especially. Some political issues, but didn't get me down as much as I had feared.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:00 / km)

Inaugural weekend with the new ultra slimline squad. Strange kind of training session involving a long slog up Crookstone Knoll, a few controls in gullies, then a slog back down on an O map made with Google Earth. Not the most exciting.

Orienteering 20:00 [5] *** 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

Oing on a new O map of Hagg Farm, brutally steep but really nice forest. Pretty tricky and ran hard. Supposed to be a yellow jersy race but never heard anything about it again...

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

Warm down with Speaky, only problem was that Hagg Farm is surrounded by huge hills so we had to run up one.

Running 30:00 [2] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

All too brief climb at Rivelin Rocks with Bilbo, Jen and Kelly. Gorgeous day, felt like the middle of the summer in a sheltered spot. Then ran home over Stannington.

Running Drills 20:00 [4] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)

Drills on a football pitch on the way home with 8 sprints.

Running 40:00 [2]

Nice cruise up Loxley with Jen. No time for anything else today. Legs still pretty sore.

Running 1:20:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:20 / km)

Since I've done 80 mins for the last three days I thought I may as well do it again. The usual run: Loxley common, fisheries, spoon, stannington, Rivelin. Very dark by the time I finished, could have done with a light.

Track session intervals 30:00 [5] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

Hallamshire intervals. I was concerned that I would blow up again after the last two attempts, but it went surprisingly well. Strides and drills then 3x1500, 1x1200. 4.42, 4.46, 4.49, 3.51. Much better than last time and actually had some energy left for the final rep, maybe track isn't too bad after all.

Running 55:00 [2] 10.0 km (5:30 / km)

Run to Hallamshire and back home with Rob, Al and Dave. Sore calfs, still from drills last Thursday I think.

Circuits 35:00 [3]

ShUOC circuits, up to 45/15 this week and it felt a bit harder. Spent the day at Eccy woods again and this was about all I was up to doing afterwards.

Running 45:00 [2] 8.0 km (5:38 / km)

Run to circuits and back plus a bit of w/u and w/d in the hall.
