DP Stones race from the Sportsman. Felt surprisingly perky tonight and managed to get a bit of a lead on Josh up the climb from the haunted house, which held to the finish. There was plenty of navigational comedy, particularly en route to the Head Stone, where the usual trod proved elusive. The slog along Stanage felt like hard work. This was billed as 7.6 miles, typical DP-style route measuring.

Hike up to the Wool Packs with Alex for a game of hide n seek. Such a hot day, and the driest I have ever seen it up there, the peat hags all crumbling and cracking. Lots of fun running and sliding our way back down.

Nice cruisy run from Halifax to Thornton via bits of the Calderdale way and a few other trails. Good to explore some new places and there were some really nice bits, especially through Shibden Dale. Knee, etc. was absolutely fine and the legs felt pretty good for this all told.

More successful today and able to sustain a good few laps between stretching. ITB was sore again and very stiff in the evening. Finally took the plunge and had a dip in the 'lido' after jealously watching the swimmers all week. It was lovely!

Very tentative jog, walk, stretch around Wickstead Park. Flat and off road, which was ideal. Sore to begin with but eased and felt looser later on in the day. Still very niggly though and quick to irritate with the slightest gradient.
