A proper run! The bum felt good after yesterday, and the sun was shining, so I set of on a loop from Jen's gran's place via the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Cawthorne, fully intending to walk if I needed to. No bother though, other than a mild sensation, which eased after about 35 mins. Chips to celebrate.

Note

Saw Kim for a diagnosis. Likely to be a hamstring tear in the tendon, which has hopefully settled now after such a long lay off. Should be OK to start a bit of gentle running again.

Well that was a rough week. Came down with a fever on Weds evening and spent the next two days in bed. Made it to the doc for a diagnosis of a urinry tract infection and some antibiotics. Missed Mike's wedding, hung out in a cold field at the FRA and had a relapse, canned the compass sport cup and got better instead. Pretty much there now. Came out of nowhere and knocked me for six, bit of a strange one.

Started feeling ropey soon after and deteriorated through the evening. Feverish by the time I got home.

Nice morning ride out to Owler Bar, round Ramsley, down to Curber, back via Grindleford and Fox House. Gorgeous morning with low-lying mist hanging in all the hollows and a spectacular sunrise over the moors. The temperature dropped by about 5 degrees every time I plunged into the mist, got quite chilly along the valley to Grindleford.

The bum had settled a bit and I foolishly thought that some gentle exercise might help matters (still in the back of my mind that Sunday might be possible. Idiot). Tried a very slow jog HFW, but it was pretty much impossible to run. It very soon became a hobble/walk/hobble/walk debacle.
