Last day of holiday and I couldn't resist having one small jog along the beach, Felt awful, breathing was laboured, but seemed to do no harm. Maybe finally getting somewhere. This has been a really bad one.

Not been a great few days. Came down with a fever on the journey out to Gran Canaria on Saturday and didn't leave my bed for three days. Improving slowly now, but still suffering aches and pains, headache, cough, blocked sinuses, etc. At least it makes the decision not to race nice and easy. Unfortunately I feel every bit as broken as I would have done had I made it to the finish line and I'm expecting to need a few more days to get back to normal. Best laid plans.

Well this was probably a mistake. Cold, wet, slushy, windy but sociable run from somewhere near Hawes. Should have stayed inside in the relative warm, should have cut shorter, should have got an earlier night. Hindsight. Anyway, it was good to catch up with loads of folk and impossible to resist the run.
