Loop in the Lakes on the way home. Planned an easy 40 mins around Grasmere but couldn't resist climbing in the glorious sunshine. And then kept climbing... Struggling on the ups but otherwise running really well and just loving being in the hills on such a nice day. Drive back afterwards wasn't quite so much fun...

Jog to the start taking in several loops of the wee park on the way. Forgot my watch.

Run - Orienteering race 40:30 [4] 6.0 km (6:45 / km) +300m 5:24 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons 2017

FVO Club Champs, Abbey Craig, 5.1km, 0m......
Good fun, nice wee area but plenty of climb (will have to add it up as forgot my watch). Clean and didn't mess about too much, just tired and moving slowly - thought actually much better than i was expecting. Kept the pace within control so quads were able to cope. Nice to see so many new FVO faces that i don't yet know. Even the sun was out!

Three more Munro's, into double figures now! With Jonx, Marie Claire, Tullster and Jegor and Ana around Beinn A'Ghlo - actually three hills. Long but easy walk in waiting for the mist to clear. It didn't. Climbs were easy and I'm sure the views would have been great... Pretty cold on the first half of the return into a strong wind, but it stayed dry and the wind eased towards the end. Good day out.

A loop in the southern Pentlands with Nicky. Much colder than I was expecting and only just had enough on to manage to stay warm. Also surprisingly underused compared to the northern hills. Very enjoyable and social (lots of chatting).

Run - Trail 15:51 intensity: (31 @0) + (2:33 @1) + (7:24 @2) + (3:08 @3) + (2:15 @4) 2.18 km (7:15 / km) +115m 5:45 / km

Tight quads, easy loosen out and then up to the start with quite a large gang of runners. Nice to see lots of familiar faces and so many people in FVO kit - don't get to see that much down my way!

Run - Orienteering race 38:45 intensity: (1 @0) + (16 @1) + (6 @2) + (1:57 @3) + (28:38 @4) + (7:47 @5) 4.36 km (8:54 / km) +96m 8:01 / km

Night O on Sauchie.

This was ace, so much fun and some cracking woods. Such a shame that there is so little left now. However, Lard made excellent use of the trees that were remaining. No power in my legs to set off very easy with the big crowd. Surprised to get #1 first! Also surprised to #4 first! Then lost time on #6 and quads started to tie up so had to go even slower. Light went into power-saving mode at #14 and from there on my visibility was severely limited. Not by as much as I lost as the dodgy mapping of the bounder at #18 though...
7 PM

Run - Trail 33:17 intensity: (45 @0) + (9:48 @1) + (20:41 @2) + (1:57 @3) + (6 @4) 3.6 km (9:14 / km) +47m 8:40 / km
ahr:120 max:154 shoes: VJ Falcons 2017

Out to collect a few controls. Struggled on the first one... Light died completely just after I hit the main track. Light enough without it not to have to did the spare out. Legs, especially the quads, battered.

ahr:147 max:182 shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2018 (blk)

Again, no luck today. Headed to Loch Lomond to to the Ben. Wind a bit nippy but nice trek up (mostly walking), but 15 minutes from the top the cloud came down and it got wet and cold. Straight over the top and down the other side. Cloud cleared after about 15 minutes and remained clear...

Plan had been Skidaw but upon arrival in the Lakes the glorious morning sunshine was quickly replaced with rain. Opted for a low level route somewhere new, so around Thirlmere it was. Sign's said part of the circular route was closed and then when I got to the end of the lake the road was closed. Didn't once think that would mean that the whole west side of the lake would be blocked. So three-quarters of the way down the far side and yes, everything was shut. Thankfully no work going on and made it around after climbing 5 barriers... Tired, hungry and cold for the last 20 minutes into a head wind.
