Bike - Road 45:11 [2] 12.7 km (3:33 / km) +36m 3:30 / km

IW. Not sure what to expect as still plenty of snow about, so opted to head down the main road through Whitchurch rather than along the sheltered Taff trail. At least I didn't get a puncture today... Instead the tube exploded and ripped a hole in the sidewall of the tyre... Less than a km from home so headed back to change bikes... (tyre now in the bin).

Exciting second trip when a bloke came within inches of driving into the side of me on the roundabout over the A470. I was in the middle of the lane in bright orange on an upright bike, I have no idea how he couldn't have seen me as he pulled out from the slip road. Got my heart rate going that did.

Still some snowy bits on the cycleway through Coryton but otherwise it was only the traffic that was annoying. Surprising how much shorter this route is but it's just so frustrating sitting at lights for so long and so often.

Bike - Road 36:22 [2] 13.01 km (2:48 / km) +68m 2:43 / km

HFW. Was overheating this morning with the heavy jacket, thermal and leggings, but in the cold rain of this evening I was very glad to have it all. Back on the Taff Trail and very glad that I avoided it this morning as there were a few bits that still had quite a lot of slush on them, despite a warm and wet afternoon.

Major faff changing my tyre and tube, though the new tube had a puncture so then had to change that, eventually discovered that it was my pup that was faulty (it have been over used recently). New one of them now ordered.

Run - Trail 1:06:23 [2] 9.38 km (7:04 / km) +325m 6:02 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons 14

Another slow plod in the snow, much wetter today though and was slush on the roads and main trails, offset by being a lovely day, even with sunshine. Still some nice bits of snow in the woods - unfortunately the wind has meant that the snow hasn't compressed the brambles. Quad bruise a lot better.

Run - Terrain 56:46 [1] 7.38 km (7:42 / km) +282m 6:28 / km
shoes: VJ Supra 2018

Up the valley to the Black Cock, making tracks in the 15-20cm of snow all the way up, hard work but very nice. Warmer than yesterday and the snow is now quite wet, still trying to snow on top of Craig-yr-Allt as well. Quad bruise quite a bit better than yesterday. Another nice clean of pairs to put in the cupboard!

Run - Terrain 1:00:00 [2] 7.02 km (8:33 / km) +294m 7:04 / km
shoes: VJ Supra 14

Wasn't planning on running today as my leg is well bruised, but couldn't resist exploring in the snow. Cold in the wind on the top of the Garth, but next to no snow, plenty in the woods and fields though. Limping meant the downhills were sore and that I couldn't have too much fun.

Run - Road 54:46 [2] 10.45 km (5:14 / km) +49m 5:07 / km
shoes: Asics trail (orange)

IW. Straight down the A470, surprising how much shorter this is than the Taff Trail. On foot as expecting the weather to be too bad to cycle this evening and public transport to fail. Cold wind and snow blowing around all the way in, but nothing much in the way of quantity.

Took a heavy fall just as I stopped my watch at work, slipping on the rubber tactile strips that allow the visually impaired to know there are steps coming up. Very dead quad and limping all day.
5 PM

Run - Trail 1:05:00 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (45:00 @2) 11.05 km (5:53 / km) +79m 5:41 / km
shoes: Asics trail (orange)

HFW. Limping. Leg very sore to start, it got better but was still hurting. As expected, running was the only option to get home, roads nearly empty and trains stopped at lunchtime. Not much snow yet, but starting to build up in drifts along the edges of the roads - saw a film crew filming the very empty A470 near Tong. Looking forward to exploring in the morning.

Short run after a site visit. No snow down here but the ground was rock hard. Had no map so just followed the footpaths that turned up. Taking it very easy.

Bike - Road 33:31 [1] 12.94 km (2:35 / km) +29m 2:34 / km

IW. Well cold again but properly wrapped up. No hat but the cold head didn't bother me.
5 PM

Bike - Road 32:13 [1] 12.68 km (2:32 / km) +48m 2:30 / km

HFW. A few snow flurries during the afternoon but not enough to even give a light dusting. Unsurprisingly, pretty cold.
6 PM

Run - Trail 1:00:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (25:00 @2) + (20:30 @3) + (3:30 @4) + (1:00 @5) 8.51 km (7:03 / km) +377m 5:46 / km
shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2017 (blue)

MDC run from Treforest up on to Senghenydd Common. Stunning clear night but well below freezing even without the icy wind. Well wrapped up and it was only the gloves that I underestimated (couldn't find my better ones). Long steep climb to start which took a while before I could sort of get moving. Very enjoyable and far too much food (again) after.
