Run - Road 40:00 [2] 8.2 km (4:53 / km) +100m 4:36 / km
shoes: Asics 2140

HFW. Up Eccy Road and into Eccy woods (dry, despite today's deluge) and back via Millhouses. Hard work as my body has forgotten what running is and felt odd; new shoes need a bit more running in but it was mostly due to my lack of running. Cough still lingering but my calf was fine.
Respect to all four teams at the head of today's WOC relay; I can't see such sporting behaviour happening in all that many other sports (football / F1, forget it).

Strength exercises 18:00 [3]

Body found this hard work. Need to keep it up.

(rest day)

Not taking any chances and taking this come back stuff easy, so rest for me today.

Run - Road 24:00 [1] 5.0 km (4:48 / km) +50m 4:34 / km
shoes: Asics 2140

Yahoo, a run at last. Well not really a run, but I did propel myself with my legs. Headed up to Millhouses Park to pick up a map from the SYO sprint event (not fixed enough to run it) and as it was such a nice evening I carried on to the end of the park and back through Hutcliff Wood. Very, very stiff and lethargic feeling but no issues with the calf at all.

Climbing 55:00 [3]

My mates abandoned me this evening so I was left climbing on my own. Not as bad as I thought it may be and I got stuck in to trying a few harder routes. Started well but strength went pretty quickly and called it a day when two new blisters bust on my fingers. Good session though.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Rest day, but no time to do any exercise anyway. Feeling good; calf not hurting and my cough is very nearly gone.

Bike - Road 1:10:00 [3] 31.0 km (2:15 / km) +300m 2:09 / km
(injured)

Very tempted to sit and watch the athletics all evening but as I'm out tomorrow and it was such a nice evening I somehow managed to talk myself into getting out. Good choice, although my legs a little tired, but started out quite sprightly and took a different route out through Norton to Dronfield, over to Chesterfield and then a long (and very steep at the end) climb up to Owlers Bar. Tired on the climb and back hurting, but stuck at it (maybe I should get a granny-ring fitted?). Decided to take the short way back home which turned out to be a mistake as the road had been surfaced skimmed in preparation for a new surface. The vibrations from the surface were like cycling while sitting on a spinning washing machine (that's an assumption, I haven't tried it).
