Note
(injured) (rest day)

10 weeks. Initially thought that I would be well better by now, but that still seems some way off yet. Still can’t lie on my right side due to my back and ribs and my neck and shoulder still get sore after any sore of extra use. Busy day sorting out lots of little things but not any exercise.

Friday Oct 30, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Neck check today, got given the all clear so although it is still sore, I should not have to worry too much about damaging it if I do a bit more than I really should.

Thursday Oct 29, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Was planning on another short spin but sort of ran out of time and motivation.

Wednesday Oct 28, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Shoulder got very sore at work and my neck progressively during the day; I don't think that either was connected to yesterday's exertions but no need to push anything too much at this stage. Otherwise feeling grand.

Bike - Static 15:00 [2]
(injured)

Cranked it up to 15 minutes today and even through a few intervals in (you have to do something to keep your mind occupied while on a turbo-trainer). Got up a proper sweat and my heart beating at a decent rate. Body didn't know what was happening so informed me that it wasn't much enjoying the experience and that that was quite enough. Legs a bit tired from yesterday's effort but otherwise no unwanted side effects.

Bike - Static 10:00 [2]
(injured)

Whoop, I'm not at the very bottom of AP any longer! - just. Not getting too excited, it was only 10 minutes of minimal effort on the turbo-trainer, but it was at least exercise. Took most of the time to warm up as legs were feeling very, very heavy, but it did feel good to get a little air into my lungs. Didn't want to do too much as I don't know what the after effects are going to be but it felt grand while doing it.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Some more physical work than I'm used to in the morning; collected and putting my desk together, also got the turbo-trainer up and running (after a visit to the bike shop to get a tube that fitted the new slick tyre). Back (and now my neck as well) hurting so took it easy for the rest of the day. Will hopefully be ache-free enough to give it a blast tomorrow.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Collected the turbo-trainer off Boyzone with the intention of using it, but it needed the tyre sorting out and my back was hurting a very big bit so I spent the evening in the arm chair. 9 weeks today.

Friday Oct 23, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Need to try and sit in a better position as my back is starting to ache quite a bit more than it should.

Thursday Oct 22, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Not very comfortable so spent most of the evening not doing a whole lot. Fell asleep on my right side for a bit last night but woke up a few minutes later having completely sized and in quite some discomfort due to my back/ribs. Some way to go yet with fixing then.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Hummm, FVO do indeed appear to be more willing to put up with me than rival clubs. I wonder if my transfer fee is too high or if I actually of some servie....

Slept without my collar for the first time and it was grand, although my neck was aching more than usual by mid afternoon. Back and ribs also sore so spent the evening in a comfy chair trying to master how to drift a Focus on gg's Playstation. Need more practice.

Tuesday Oct 20, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Walked into town which is the longest I walked for a while, got achy but not too bad, but do need to make a bigger effort to do more longer walks.

Website voting appears to be currently 2 -1 in favor of joining SYO, come on FVO, get those fingers clicking or I may just feel unloved?

CompassSport Cup final. Went along to show my face and motivate the troops. They didn't need it though. FVO won with what was actually quite an under strength team (I can think of a least 10 runners who were missing and who would have counted). Despite belonging to the best club in the country OJ was trying to poach me to join SYO - not sure why, I'm not any good to anyone at the moment. Maybe I should talk to the team managers and see what transfer fee options/incentives are being offered???

Yet more unpacking but still recovering well, thankfully nearly there though. Don't know where the rest of the day managed to go. 8 weeks and still counting since I last exercised today.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

More moving and more hurting, quite a bit actually, but a bit of a rest and the pain vanished quite quickly. Think that the extra activity, despite causing uncomfortableness, is actually good for me.

Thursday Oct 15, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Body very tired and sore from yesterday's activities - feel as it I have done a hill session from carrying boxes up stairs. Had to cease unpacking activities due to exhaustion this afternoon but it feels good that I have actually managed to do something slightly exercise oriented. Visitors now required.

Wednesday Oct 14, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Knackered. Spent all afternoon moving boxes, which was not only hard because of my limited mobility but the physical effort after two months of nothing was a shock to my body. However, now moved in and have most of my stuff with me, now all I have to do is unpack...

Tuesday Oct 13, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Walked to and from the office which was nae bother, but then drove to the estate agents in the evening and as a result my shoulder is aching a lot now. Hopefully the extra bit of use is doing it good as well as just hurting.

On the plus side, I now have a new house to move in to. Have a spare room is anyone knows anyone who's looking? Everyone welcome to vist me at the following:
Flat 2, 36 Rutland Park, S10 2PB

Appointment with the solicitor, not my natural territory but not too bad either. Have to keep a track of everything I'm doing for now and then there's no point in finalising the case until I know what my long term position will be, and that I won't know until I am back to hard training. Probably (hopefully at least) about next Easter then.

Sunday Oct 11, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Spent the days at Faye and Greg's not doing much. Tried driving for the first time yesterday evening and my shoulder is now quite stiff, though not unbearably so. Driving itself was grand, but looking over my shoulder for parking and pulling out was difficult. Also had to turn the wheel slowly and a quick movement hurt my ribs and shoulder. Need to man up a bit I think!

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Seven weeks today. Was expecting to be at least doing some sort of running by now but that still seems some weeks away. Improving still though, but if I jump in the air at all (as even in jogging) my ribs are not at all happy upon landing.

Friday Oct 9, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Noting of note today; didn't do too much and didn't feel too bad because of it. Getting to the stage that I need to start doing some sort of useful exercise though as I'm starting to go mad.

Thursday Oct 8, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Ribs very sore when I woke up, so must be to do with sleeping, however I did have just about the best sleep that I've managed since the accident so can manage a few little side effects.

Wednesday Oct 7, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Right ribs sore around my side today, unless it was from sleeping in an awkward position I don't know why. Otherwise improvements go slowly on.

Tuesday Oct 6, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Another half day in work and a slightly long walk home - needed a rest by time I got back. Think that I need to start taking some pain killers again so I can do a bit more with my arm before it starts hurting so damn much.

Monday Oct 5, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Headed into work for a half days work today. The work aspect was easy enough but with the travelling and the length of time being active it was long enough to start being uncomfortable. Good to be out doing something though.

Sunday Oct 4, 2009 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Some sort of O event in Cannock, not sure what as I pottered around the forest looking at sculptures and Go-Ape when the others were running. Boyzone managed to open the cut on his nose (occurred from an impact with an elderly gentleman in the maze yesterday - Boyzone came off worse) by running in a branch at the perfect height... Numpty!

Maize Maze Oing. Was planning on doing all three courses but they were quite a bit longer than I was expecting and when it started raining during the first one I gave up on the idea completely. It got very slippery and sticky and the lateral movement (as well as all the twists and turns from the maze) caused my back to hurt a lot. Great fun though and I really would have liked to be able to run it, not all that difficult at a walk (especially the longer legs) but enough to keep you thinking. Finished 80th out of a 100 finishes on the course that I did! Will look forward to next years.

Nice walk in the afternoon sun around Quorn. Arm aching a lot today even though I wasn't out for that long, was over an hour though so not too bad.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Some chavs in a 4X4 chucked something at me while driving past which hit me on the hand and made me jump, wrenching my neck. They drove on laughing. Just what goes on in some peoples heads is not possible to understand.

Had to hike up the hill to the top of Eccy road (from Woodseats) with a bag on so it was quite a work out, very sore by the time I got there but it feels good that I did actually do something a little harder.
