Walk 2:00:00 [1] *
(injured) shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Another nice day plodding around Cannock (7.00hrs). Shins were very sore for the last 30 minutes, just as well I'm not out again tomorrow.

Tuesday Jan 30, 2007 #

Walk 2:30:00 [1]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Second day in Cannock (8.00hrs). Much the same as yesterday. Nice but not exciting.

Monday Jan 29, 2007 #

Walk 2:15:00 [1]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Checking the Harveys map of Cannock Chase (7.00hrs). Spent the whole day walking along tracks. Big area, will take quite a bit of time to see it all. Covered maybe 20 miles.

Run - Orienteering 1:08:20 [5] 12.2 km (5:36 / km) +145m 5:17 / km

Robin Hood trophy. Sherwood Pines. Fast and mostly dull plantation. Started slow as had no interest in the area. Got faster in the second half as the course improved. Dinished exactly .5mpk behind OJ which was quite good considering I didn't try for half of it!

Run - Road 1:11:40 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Felt like doing a road session, just as well as there's still plenty of ice on the higher paths. Spent half the run on the side of the road as the council seam to think that it's more important to salt the road for traffic rather than the pavements. Tried to snow for the first half then turned out nice. Up Porter brook and around the back of Fullwood. Shoulders killing me (as they have for all runs in the past week). Starting to feel a bit tired.

Run - Trail 1:02:40 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

First run in a week at my normal pace, bit tired from circuits (hamstrings especially) so no heroics today. Up Rivelin and straight up the hill to Fulwood, still a bit of snow around and very icy on the N slopes.

Circuits 45:00 [4]

First session back after Christmas, new (harder) order, didn't try hard but am still wacked.

Warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Warm up and down for circuits plus jog home.

Sunday Jan 21, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:03:10 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Run up Rivelin with Ash, cold, snowing, very wet and getting dark. Not a lot of fun to be out.

Saturday Jan 20, 2007 #

Run - Trail 2:04:00 [2]

Long run from Esperaza with Ashy, ran up to the plateaux to the south and did a loop around there. Nice evening, slow but steady and even did the cross to finish to make it up to 2 hours.

Friday Jan 19, 2007 #

Run - Trail 57:00 [3]

Went skiing all day (downhill - first time - tired from fear...) so ran with Ash in the dark when we got back. Loop to Fa nad up to Crux, just about enought light to see the trails. Ran three hills hardish and the rest was easy.

Thursday Jan 18, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:20:00 [2]

Rennes le Chateaux loop with Ash, felt rubbish on the first hill so was glad of an easy pace, once warmed up was happy jogging along.

Tuesday Jan 16, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:23:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Run up to Rivelin dam with Matt. Felt quite good at the start until we went up hill, then noticed al the longer runs that I've been doing. Once propperly warmed up thought felt good and had plenty of energy left for the last hill.

Monday Jan 15, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Spent all day doing CAD work, was planning on circuits but forgot to take shoes with me.

Sunday Jan 14, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering race 48:00 [5] 8.6 km (5:35 / km) +185m 5:02 / km

Local Event near Barnsley. Beautiful morning to be out. Ran reasonably well but it really felt as as if haven't done a hard run in a while. Found the last km quite tough.

Saturday Jan 13, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Didn't need a rest but wanted to get done

Friday Jan 12, 2007 #

Run - Trail 2:00:00 [2]

Checked the bit of map up near Holmfirth. Lot harder work today, more climb and very windy. Starter feeling stiff but felt ok (as long as I didn't run hard) once I got warmed up.

Thursday Jan 11, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Could have done with a 'real' run today, but it was right minging out so caught up with map corrections

Wednesday Jan 10, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:50:00 [2]

More map checking with Matt, mostly on paths. Pace ok but lots of stops. Felt quite tired, especially on the hills.

Monday Jan 8, 2007 #

Run - Trail 2:00:00 [2]

Another bit of Peaks checking, ran with Matt to the S of Sheffield. Not a lot of changes. Felt fine at the slow pace we were moving at, but really need a day or so with some propper running. Enough long stuff done.

Sunday Jan 7, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Had to do the last three of the three peaks... Ran up Whernside with Andy. Windy and misty again, nice steady pace and just managed to keep jogging on the steep climb. Felt good to do a bit of running after the past few days.

Saturday Jan 6, 2007 #

Run - Trail 2:15:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Janine's 30th. Run from Horton to Ribblehead viaduct. Misty and cold on top of Ingleborough, pace was slow and relaxed and a nice good size group. Stopped for a pub luch in Ribblehead.

Run - Trail 2:30:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Second part of the run, from Ribblehead back to Horton via Pen-y-gent. Pace got quite slow on the final climb so got a bit cold. Tired from the length of time out rather than the amount of effort.

Friday Jan 5, 2007 #

Run - Terrain 1:30:00 [2]

Went up to the N of Bleaklow to check a fence on the Harvey map. Tired from yesterday and not a nice morning. Finially tied the fence down though. Had quite a bit of peat hags and rough stuff to cross, so was very slow.

Thursday Jan 4, 2007 #

Run - Terrain 1:15:00 [3]

Ran with Shance up near Snakes pass to follow a fence and map it. Rough wet mountain, quite hard work.

Run - Terrain 1:45:00 [3]

Back up onto the hills to floow fences around Derwent water. Still with Shane, quite a bit of stopping but very rough in most places. Very tired by the end.

Wednesday Jan 3, 2007 #

Note
(sick)

Cold doesn't seam to be developing, but wanted to be safe...

Tuesday Jan 2, 2007 #

Note
(sick)

Think that I may be getting the cold that Toni and Andy had over Christmas, so had an easy day.

Monday Jan 1, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering 1:06:00 [2]

Final (?) run around Derragh, shaddowed Col, Darren and Shane as we only had two maps. A little tired from the past few days but the pace was slow and we stopped a lot. WIll miss this forest.
