Run - Orienteering 41:00 [4] ****

Sheffield training group night event. Greno woods, lots of brambles and dead bracken. Controls hard to see and a few quite hit or miss. Lot of fun again though, didn't put any effort into running but felt quite tired. Should be good for the weekend.

Note
(rest day)

Ran late with work at uni, thought it a good idea to take another rest day...

Monday Nov 27, 2006 #

Circuits 1:00:00 [4]

Circuits: felt very tired today, didn't have enough energy to try hard. Easy week coming up.

Sunday Nov 26, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:32:00 [3]

Along Derwent edge checking the Harvey map, didn't find a lot in the area I ran in but could see a load of new fences in the distance... Tired on the hillls but still ran at a good clip, quite tired this evening.

Run - Orienteering race 55:00 [5] *****

SPOOK relays, Ecclesall Woods. Ran legs 2,4 & 6. Ist was about 20 minutes; ran well but duffed up two controls (maps fault!!!) by about a minute each. 2nd loop was short (about 15 minutes), a bit steeper but quite easy and the 3rd was quite similar. A good but of fun - hard to start racing again after a 20 minute break though.

Run - Trail 1:02:20 [3]

Rivelin circuit with Matt. Much more tired than I was expecting, but still a quite respectable pace.

Wednesday Nov 22, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering 46:50 [4] *****

6.3km night O in Longshaw, about 20 people out, great fun. Was with the front pack until about half way when there was a running leg. Felt good in rough terrain but dead on the fast stuff. Lost a few minutes looking for the tapes that were used for controls. Most enjoyable run.

Warm up/down 6:40 [2]

Short slow jog to warm down.

Tuesday Nov 21, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:16:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Night run with Matt, up Porter brook and accross to the edge of Rivelin. About 25 minutes on road. Very enjoyable run.

Monday Nov 20, 2006 #

Circuits 1:00:00 [4]

Just about managed everything aside from pressups, should be good for a hard session next week.

Sunday Nov 19, 2006 #

Run - Terrain 54:00 [3]

Up into the woods behind Brad's house in Dunblane, spent a very enjoyable hour exploring bits of forest with Brad and Jase. Legs a bit tires from the soft terrain yesterday but had more of a problem with breakfast wanting to make another appearance.

Run - Orienteering race 39:32 [5]
shoes: VJ Falcons

FVO club champs, Barr Wood. 6.0km, 39.32.
Very happy with the way I ran, felt that I had some spring in my step for the first time in months, desipte it being very soft underfoot. Would have been happy to race for another 20 minutes. Beat Steve Nic by the best part og 5 miuntes.

Run - Orienteering 30:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Collected the far contolls, easy jog to warm down. Stakes quite heavy after a while though.

Friday Nov 17, 2006 #

Note
(rest day)

Train up to Scotland for FVO champs and social, didn't make enough time to get a run in before leaving.

Thursday Nov 16, 2006 #

Note
(rest day)

Worked late at university, cold and windy evening, couldn't get the motoviation up enough to head out.

Wednesday Nov 15, 2006 #

Run - Trail 57:20 [3]

Started steady but not feeling great (down to Rivelin) and had a stitch, but by the time I got to the hill I was feeling pretty good and actually found myself running effortlessly for a few periods. Really enjoyed the run.

Tuesday Nov 14, 2006 #

Run - Road 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Started out slow with Matt and Chris, but they turned around after 15 minutes. Upper the pace and pushed quite hard on the long hill up to Sandygate. Felt quite good but wouldn't have been able to run at a good pace for that much longer.

Monday Nov 13, 2006 #

Circuits 1:00:00 [4]

Very hard work tonight, still not feeling 1000% and have no strenght - harder as I have missed the last two weeks.

Sunday Nov 12, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:25:00 [2]

Still had no energy (have to get back on iron and have some extra protine) but plodded away for an hour and a half. Went up the edge to Rivelin Dams and back down the valley. Nice day to be out but didn't enjoy it much.

Saturday Nov 11, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:08:00 [2]

Felt crap, legs dead and still a bit rough in the throat. Cold and windy with a bit of water thrown in as well. Didn't much enjoy but kept goning (at a slow pace), around Redmires and Rivelin dams.

Friday Nov 10, 2006 #

Note

Horrible evening and a bit pressed for time so copped out of a run. Also still a tickle in the back of my throat.

Thursday Nov 9, 2006 #

Note

Sort of ran out of time in university, got home starving so called it a day and did some more work.

Wednesday Nov 8, 2006 #

Run - Trail 59:00 [3]

Feeling a bit stronger today, ran with a couple of guys from Shuoc (Crookes into Rivvelin and back), still not better but nearly there.
