Note
(injured)

I am terribly sad to say I will no longer be able to race at World Masters...Last night I went for routine training run and crashed into a fence going across the sidewalk I couldn't see due to bright lights from oncoming car. The fence caught my foot and my ankle rolled while my body crashed to the pavement leaving me in excruciating pain. After calling home and all around trying to find someone that could help me while passer-bys walking on sidewalk and driving cars ignored my pitiful state, I finally got a hold of someone from my church and they came right away to pick me up off the side of the street and took me home, after which I was in E.R. until 2am. Thankfully nothing broken but severe sprain that makes it impossible to bear weight and I'm now on crutches and an air cast. This is not a runnable sprain, obviously. Its left me horribly devastated as I had been looking forward to this trip w/ my wife for so long and running for USA, and touring Denmark, etc... but going in this condition just wouldn't wise or even fun, probably, and I need to get back into running condition ASAP so I can train for World ARDF Champ's coming in Sept. I think the emotional pain is worse than the ankle pain, especially knowing so many fellow RMOC-ers and USA folks will be there and I can't be there to run w/ them and support them. That said I will be cheering you all on from afar, and hopefully I can make this happen in Japan in 2021. GO USA!!
