Classic x-c skiing 1:32:50 [3] 11.35 km (8:11 / km) +298m 7:14 / km

We went out all together (Sandra, Marc, Matti, Lena, Urs and I). I started a little below and passed the place where the others should have joined "my" tracks because they parked further up. As I assumed that they had passed, I continued up this beautiful valley that I did not know yet. A little further I met Sandra coming the opposite way and she didn't know either where the rest of the group was (the boys, young and old and the girl). So I continued to the end of the valley, made a loop and some figure-8 until I went up to the restaurant, though closed but still serving take-out food which we had to consume on benches or wherever in the snow. As there was nobody there, I was really, really confused. Had I gone to the wrong place?? When I called, I learned that they had been superslow, except Matti who kept sking back and for, teaching Nonno the Klaebo steps and plain having fun instructing him ;-). In the end, we were all up there, got a soup, coffee, some sweets. But by that time, I was getting really, really cold despite the full sunshine. But there was a slight wind. So Urs and I headed back down and towards the parking, whereas the Lauensteins made another loop together. A fun outing seeing those kids playing on their cross-country skis, Matti jumping and skiing in deeper snow, doing both classic and skating techniques.

2nd time on skate skis: did some exercises to get more comfortable such as doing balance, 1-1-style, 1-legged pushoff, etc. Felt better and better.
Did this inbetween bringing and picking-up Lena to and from her last day of ski school.

Late afternoon ski knowing it would be almost the last one. I pushed the pace and went up to do the World Cup black loop (only 5 k) but added some more k up the valley and once I was back down looping around the place we stay. Lots of fun and a good (last of the season) outing.
All in all, had to do EIGHT road crossings, that is on/off skis!

Downhill skiing 1:39:16 [1] 23.81 km (4:10 / km) +2289m 2:49 / km

Went to the Rinerhorn for a couple of hours for alpine skiing because Lena was there with her class and we were going to take her home afterwards. So Urs and I skied on our own. This is a small but precious ski area close to Davos where, it seems, most locals come and the ski clubs for the juniors train. However, today it was almost empty. The snow was terrific, no ice but a layer of snow for a good grip and empty slopes. I could carve and ski without pain to my knee and thoroughly enjoy it.

After downhill skiing, I hopped on the cross-country ski tracks and skied up the valley all the way home. Felt a certain tiredness appear.

After dropping off Lena at the skischool, classic skied up the wonderful Dischmatal. The tracks were still very icy and had trouble getting up the hills to the end of the tracks. And was quite anxious how I would actually make it back down as the sun didn't warm up the snow enough to make it easier. But obviously, made it just fine with snow-plowing where I actually could on the steep sections. Made an extra loop and went back for lunch.

Walking 51:29 [1] 5.08 km (10:08 / km)
ahr:120 max:185

I had offered to look after Lena in the afternoon (she only has ski school in the morning) and she didn't want to go cross-country skiing. So I suggested taking the bus up the Dischmatal and then walk back as far as we could go before the next bus would catch us. Lots of fun with her, skipping, danncing, jumping over my shadow for- then backwards while chattering all the way. I'm still smiling. We eventually ended up in Davos to get something sweet and do some windowshopping as it was the first day in 6 weeks that the stores were again allowed to open. For pix look under strava:

We finally made it to Davos yesterday and the snow is plentiful and fabulous. Minus degrees during the night and very warm during the day. Went classic skiing with Urs and was giving him some tips and we practiced. After 50 min he opted to go back home and I went to pick up Lena from her ski school and pulled her back home.
This was just what I needed, I still seem to be quite exhausted from the last 6 weeks, but felt better afterwards. Sunshine, snow and grandkids always help.
