Skateskiing 1:33:48 [3] 16.3 km (5:45 / km) +102m 5:35 / km

Such a beautiful day, I had to get out. Checked out the tracks which were still very good. Did the big loop at Ponts-du-Martel and enjoyed the speed and skating immensely. Amazing, the weather we have been having. Very sunny with cold nights which keeps the ski tracks in good condition!

Spending the morning on my feet watching Matti and Lena do their "races" at the ski school, then picknicking in the sunshine and going skiing with them again after lunch but before the pm ski schools did their final classes. It is truly amazing how both of them are skiing now, Matti always looking for challenges in the woods, small trails that bend and zig-zag and jumps, and Sandra right on his heels unless we stop her as it seems a bit out of her league. She seems so small but speeds and curves down the slopes without much respect. Such a joy.
Afterwards, they wanted to play in the snow as somebody had started to build an igloo. My, were we tired, we, the grandparents! Sandra came back from her run and I was fee to go out again and I had to kick myself out the door because I knew this was one of my last chances to ski with her classic skis again. My enjoyment from 2 days ago was confirmed, it was a joy to climb up to the Dischma valley which was beautiful but as it was in the shade I felt pretty cold. At a steeper inline, I turned around and skied back down into the last rays of warming sunshine. There, I did another loop at the cross-country ski center and headed back towards home but added another small loop. Totally happy with it and the gorgeous day spent in the sunshine.

Beautiful downhill day with Urs on Rinerhorn. Above timberline in plain sunshine and spectacular views.

PS: measuring just for fun and was curious.

Could borrow Sandra's classic skis with little skins and her shoes and, boy, what a difference and joy this was. Could climb and and ski like its supposed to be. A true enjoyment.

The first beautiful day. Started and did a small loop then went to the skischool to help pick up Matti and Lena when they were done. Pulling Lena back home, taking off clothes, boots, helmets, etc which is always so much. Then, went back out again and did the World Cup Loop which I haven't done in a few years. It is quite tough and today the new snow, though nicely tracked was still a bit soft but also slow. It was really also a strength training. But it went up to a beautiful valley with the trees covered with snow which was piled high on the trees and about 1 m on some of the stables I could see. A fairytale.

Classic x-c skiing 1:04:00 [0] 8.09 km (7:55 / km) +72m 7:35 / km

A very snowy, windy day. Went out on classic skis up the Dischmatal bc I thought there would be less wind. However, the tracks stopped and eventually, I turned around as the snow was too deep.
Saw some orienteers from a long time ago and we chatted for quite a while. Could ski quite well today but the skis didn't climb well and slid back a lot. Luckily, I didn't plan to go climb any great hills.
