Jog to start of sprint.

Orienteering race 21:02 [5] 2.95 km (7:07 / km) +16m 6:56 / km

Did a sprint as it was the same place as the Bike-O registration and changing place (big school). It was somewhat unplanned and didn't have the right shoes. Felt not as springy as I wished ;-/).
Made a few blunders, such as did not see #9 on the map (they were so close together) and noticed on way to 10, that I was missing the control 9. Had to get back down from the church and around the walls to the control (lost about 1 min. Came in 4th out of 12, but could have come in between 2nd and 4th, but that's always easy to say. It was quite tricky in spots even though at home it does not look that way.

Long way and climb up to the start of the bike-O! Quite hot.

Bike O race 1:35:52 [5] 17.36 km (5:31 / km) +382m 4:58 / km

Was not a very exciting Bike-O course and we had a few very, very steep (and dangerous) downhills on single trails! Had a good ride for about 2/3 of the way (appr. 50 min) and thought I'd finish the rest in 20 min. But NO, the hard part still came with another loop over the hill and then I made a capital mistake: on a short fast downhill, I knew when the trail ended, I had to make a left onto a small single track along the slope. I did it and when this single trail became way too dangerous in the steep slope, I got off and checked my map: I hadn't noticed that there were two single trails veering off to the left and I just saw the smaller one. I cursed and did a detour with lots of time loss, 10 min at least. The final km on the course was with lots of downhills and often I chose to walk as I just would not dream of riding it (once it even had small steps, and I had to put my bike sideways as it would have fallen off, I could not hold it).
Good beginning and stayed quite close to Monica (who's always riding in another sphere), but lost lots more towards the end, still 2nd out of 4.

My last yoga class of this semester (as we're leaving for Colorado and Idaho next Monday). We practiced outside which was wonderful, but I also got bit by mosquitoes which made meditation at the end somewhat restless. ;-/))
