Orienteering race 1:00:51 [5] 5.67 km (10:44 / km) +179m 9:16 / km
Ran leg 4 in the Pfingsten relay; I had a pretty good run and could find the flags quite well in the Jura area which does not have many landmarks and lots of semi-open. I liked the technical aspect, but just could not keep up physically, even though I ran well for my age, and I was about the 2nd oldest among all the men, women, young runners and people of all ages.
Some insecurities and one mistake of about 1 min.
The Pfingsten relay is a traditional 3-day weekend event with everyone camping somewhere in the Jura. The clubs come from all over Switzerland and mostly for the juniors it is a must to participate. There are 2 night-legs starting at 9 pm (this time in rain and fog meaning very tough) and the 3rd runner starts 6:30 am plus the combined time of the 2 night legs. There are 7 total legs.
I was camping with Matti and Lena (in the rain), but we had a dry and warm night a bit further away from all the clubs, cheering and talking around the fires. (Marc was the event director and Sandra busy with helping, so I looked after the kids at night. Our little adventure ;-).
