Hiking 1:50:03 [1] 6.97 km (15:47 / km) +327m 12:47 / km

Hiking with Urs on a very beautiful fall day up from La Tourne exploring some more of the beautiful Jura mountain range up high.

Running 49:07 [3] 4.87 km (10:05 / km) +143m 8:47 / km

Running an extra loop while Urs took the direct route back to La Tourne and the restaurant.
I followed the hiking trail signs, but several places it was hard to impossible to make out the trails, so I had to guess and eventually always found the signs on the trees again. However, it slowed me down quite a bit.
Once, I had to pass through a herd of incredible yaks with the most threatening horns. They all seemed to be bulls (later, I saw the females and young ones in a separate fence), and one of them snorted and look at me which made me very nervous, so I started to talk to it and skirted the whole herd in a wide arch. Uff.
Later on, I had to go yet through another herd of cows, and at the gate it said to be aware of the bull! Again, I kept close to the fence watching the herd, but they all seemed to be peaceful cows. I was glad when I could climb the gate on the other side.
My wisdom: trails are very well marked on trees and on maps, but often invisible in terrain or dead-end at private property.

Mountain Biking 2:15:01 [3] 24.3 km (5:33 / km) +621m 4:56 / km

An exploratory bike ride all uphill from home to see how far I could get. The wishful goal was Mont Racine, but the road up from Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane was just too steep, and I did not have the energy and was getting cold. Finally, I turned at a dead-end (yet again).
In fact, if I hadn't done as many detours in that area, I would have had more time. Well, another time. I continue to discover the area and make sense in my head how to get from here to there.

Mountain Biking 1:00:59 [3] 10.58 km (5:46 / km) +291m 5:04 / km

After another day spending at home putting together even more IKEA-furniture (I love doing it and am becoming quite the expert ;-)), and rearranging and more optimizing where things go, I finally kicked myself out the door after 6 pm and I was racing against daylight. Actually, towards the end in the woods it was fairly dark and I rode quite slowly down some of the trails feeling a little blind doing it.
I enjoyed getting the bearing in these parts of the woods thanks also to the bike-O map that Sandra printed for me. I am getting more and more familiar with this area and there is so much more to discover! Fun.
Getting home in the dark!
