Training Log Archive: Torino

Can it get any better? It did! Another sunny day w warm temps and lots of light after the last very grey week in bern.
Slower morning and meandering again through the old part to the funicular to montjuic and taking the gondola up. From there lots of walking to look at views over the Mediterranean and the city. Walking down to the Olympic stadiums and finally finding a bar f a sandwich. Hurrying w a taxi over to the very famous Camp Nou f a FC Barcelona game starting at 5 pm. What a feeling cheering w 90'000 others and watching Messy, Neymar etc up close (we had great seats). Freezing though and bundled up w hood up and all (see pix on FB). Walking quite a bit afterwards to find a taxi f hotel. Afterwards walking again to dinner and back up lively Ramblas back. Huge crowds of people chatting walking slowly, visiting, felt very relaxing and somewhat joyful. Nice,warm temps.

Getting up early for Spain and meet our tour guide f Gaudi places. Saw one house first the Casa Bottli (impressive, Gaudi's work full of light, v functional, adapted to nature w rounded structures and to me v playful). Felt like a kid walking around w huge eyes and lost in playland. Next on to the Sagrada Familia and there are no words describing that masterpiece. Maybe in 2027 it will be finished. After the 3 1-2hr tour w walking a lot we took the taxi to the Park Güell another Gaudi work. Very, very beautiful, enjoying walking around in perfectly harmonic structures (stairs,caves etc). Going w taxi to desigual outlet and walked back from there by myself. In the eve wonderful concert of beethovens 9th symph and Carmina Burana.
What a day we've had!

Arriving in Barcelona late pm and walking from hotel south into old town, barri gothic, looking at Palau de musica catalanes (incredibly beautiful architecture), buying concert tickets f sat night(!), then on to Xmas market and looking at immense cathedral de Santa eulalia. Meandering further, having dinner and walking back along Ramblas to hotel. Lots of people, locals, Spanish tourists f 3-day we of Maria immaticulata.
First time f me walking that much after arthroscopy on nov 17. Goes ok, knee swells but recovers overnight.
