Downhill skiing 2:00:00 [2]
Went early to go downhill skiing in Saanenmöser. We thought we still would have some sun before clouds moved in and that we could ski in new snow that fell overnight. Well, the clouds were already there and it made for very hard skiing as it was blind. And the new snow was kind of heavy, not the fluffy type I had anticipated. Plus we were both kind of reduced from various ailments (should have stayed in bed). The first few downhills were cautious and hard work. After 2 hours I needed to get inside to recover and drink more fluids. Somehow, the blindness had lifted a bit and the skiing was better, and we enjoyed the following 2 hours before I needed a break and some liquids again. We skied a total of over 6 hours and it got more and more fun despite the deeper snow and harder work. But my back was talking to me by the end and I was always anzy about my painful right knee, but it survived, too.
By the end, Urs's cold and bronchitis and my bladder infection (or whatever it was) were both slightly better.
