Our rest day. I felt quite tired today. We went up a Long valley with only Little Elevation gain to an alp which always mean a huge Restaurant and tons of tourists. Back down almost the same way but were more adventurous in choice of trail which was a mistake. We pushed the bikes across through some bushes onto the trail we knew.

At home again some lap Swimming. Felt good.

Was in bed after dinner at 8:30!!

Biking from the Hotel to the gondola

Biking over from the gondola (after having studied the trailsystem and looked at the gorgeous views) to the Bärenbadalm. Quite easy and mostly downhill except for a short spot where the trail was full of roots and steep and I had to get off.

We decided we could climb the Barenkopf (bear's head) from this alp as it was fairly Close and looked possible even though we did not bring along hiking stuff. The climb was on the North side and quite slippery with lots of roots and rocks. But up high it was beautiful! We took a different and longer way down which was entirely dry. A good hike!

After a coffee and tea, we biked down the forest road almost to Pertisau when we decided to add another Loop that ended in a cross-country ski hut for beer and blueberry yogurt shake.

Back at the Hotel we spent some time in the Whirlpool and the in- and outdoor pool. Did a few laps to warm up my Swimming ;-).

Long drive to Austria and Achensee a Little after Innsbruck. Stayed in a Hotel in Pertisau that Urs has won a check for with a cross-word puzzle.

Crosstrainer 45:00 [2]

Packing, packing, packing, the day was running away from me. When I wanted to go out for a short run, a thunderstorm was releasing its buckets of rain.
So I opted for a quick 45 min on the cross trainer. Today, I tried to run on it without holding the handles and it was quite a workout. Did some hills with 5 min with resistance then off and on again. Sweating buckets ;-).

Quick run before I got too hungry, but it was already too hot and I felt thirsty. My legs felt heavy, did a detour by a fountain and chose a slightly different route. On the way home missed a trail turnoff (not the first time!) and it was slightly longer. I was surprised that I almost ran the same time as last week. Without the detours I would have, but it definitely did not feel like it. Happy with it anyway.

Went to check on the swans, and they definitely must have lost their eggs in the flooding even though one of them sat on something in the water, but the nest must have flooded away. Curiously, the pair picked up a white biggish duck (or goose), and everyone things from far away that it is one of their young (but they would be dark colored).
