Running 1:09:07 [3] 9.95 km (6:57 / km) +376m 5:51 / km

A foggy day, stayed at home and did a lot of cleaning up mostly personal stuff that I had stored for almost 10 years now. Whew, digging into my past. Went for a run in the Bremer and did the 10k loop again like 2 weeks ago. Cold seeping into the bones whereas higher up there's beautiful sunshine!

Skateskiing 1:02:17 [3] 8.24 km (7:33 / km) +145m 6:57 / km

My first time on the small skis this winter, and I felt very shaky first. But slowly I got used to the new great boots, the longer and also new poles and the uneven ground. Skateskied with Sandra west of La-Chaux-de-Fonds near Le Maillard (O-map). It was amazing to even find some snow as all the hillsides before we got there were green or brown. It was great fun to be able to ski on what's left of snow and to be on the Jura heights and in the sun!

Hiking 7:52 [1] 0.37 mi (21:02 / mi) +16m 18:34 / mi

Walking home from the Youth Hostel just to see how far it is and how long it would take me.

Running 46:50 [3] 6.22 km (7:32 / km) +180m 6:35 / km

Finally kicked myself outside for a run! Started with my old standard, the Elfenauloop. Felt not as bad as expected. No snow nor ice left. But we were covered with a grey fog layer and one could see that not far away they had sunshine!

Unspecified 1 [0]

Somehow, I have absolutely no inclination or motivation to go running. I'd rather just stay home!! Strange, but I should probably listen to my body.

I had 3 Drs appointments today, one to measure how far my trochlear nerve and the unfocussing had changed. And it had!! It is almost back to normal except between 2 meters and to my toes it is still unfocussed. This too, will resolve itself I hope.
But I have gotten used to my glasses now and I am really reluctant because of my poor corneal health at Christmas to go back to contacts. I will be able to know more on Friday when I will revisit the eye Dr.
The advantage: I see clearer and better with glasses and just looking under the glasses I can also read very clearly as I am near-sighted anyway. So, I could actually read the O-map much better this way once the vision for seeing the trails up close has changed too.
Disadvantage: always having to adjust the glasses, fogging up, rain and sleet, but then, I am not the only one who had to deal with that. We'll see!

Teaching classes 1:50:00 [2]

My Tuesday of teaching 3 classes; the Nordic Fitness class in the evening was the toughest. I had 2 new guys, so there were 4 men and 2 women. I made them sweat!!

Nordic Walking 1:00:00 [1] 4.5 km (13:20 / km) +60m 12:30 / km

Teaching a core conditioning class with some ab work holding bands and then whole-body strength training with bands. Felt some soreness the nex day.
Class 2 following: the NW with seniors (they are just so faithful). Did the Harder loop, that is part of it was closed as they are clear cutting again. I am always so upset that they clear cut in these parts of Berne. I assume that the head person in charge of the forests up here is insane and cost cutting at the wrong places. The areas are so steep, they need the trees to hold the ground together. Over and over there are rock and mud slides mostly in the summer with strong thunderstorms or lots of rain.
And, incidently, last Saturday, just 2 days after we had gone through an area, a big rockfall reached the trail down in the flat area!
Here in Berne they cut trees too, but they only cut them out of the woods not clear cutting. In Interlaken those sidehills look awful and I wouldn't want to live below one of those which lots of people do!!
