Running 1:13:36 [3] 10.0 km (7:22 / km) +180m 6:45 / km

Another exploratory run: went to the Bremer and wanted to run about 70 min. I did the loop I had started in early December but then crossed to another section and added another loop.
I had trouble with my glasses: they fogged up all the time, ran without them for awhile, but nothing was clear but when I looked at my hands close-up.
Felt good all the way which was encouraging!

Ski touring 1:30:00 [2] 4.0 km (22:30 / km) +800m 11:15 / km

It was such a beautiful and warm day, we decided to go on a little ski tour in the afternoon. We figured that the snow on the slopes would be too bad to go skiing.
Parked at Metsch-Elsigbach and went up to the Elsighorn. Took the skislopes down which was my first to "see" how I would do with skiing.
Nice easy tour, very enjoyable.

Ski touring 1:30:00 [2] 4.5 km (20:00 / km) +800m 10:35 / km

We decided to go on an afternoon ski tour as the weather was so wonderful and warm. The warm weather (50+ degrees) had melted lots of the snow and skiing was said to be very bad.
Went from Metsch-Elsigboden up onto the Elsighorn. Took the skislopes to come back down. This was my first to "see" how I would fare skiing. Not bad :-).
A truly enjoyable tour!

Running 30:48 [2] 3.8 km (8:07 / km)

Chattering run from Sandra's house to their wedding chappel and over an open field up into the woods. Coming back down towards their house, we took a smallish path, and I had trouble seeing it correctly (distances from 5m to closer are very skewy still especially when I move). But I have gotten better at everything either my brain adjusted which it seems to be able to do amazingly or my eyesight movement is stabilising. I DO see very clearly but the MOVEMENT of the eye is compromised so I am not focussing at the correct point.

Nordic Walking 1:18:00 [2] 5.8 km (13:27 / km) +130m 12:06 / km

Teaching yoga in the morning.

NW in the afternoon onto the Heimwehfluh. Getting down on a steep, narrow trail, I had trouble, but I stayed at the end, watched the shoes of the person ahead of me and made it fine.

Running 48:01 [3] 6.16 km (7:48 / km)

My first run on my own since December 22! I was just curious how I would do with this Trochlear nerve palsy now that I seem to have adjusted to it somewhat. Still lots of questions in my head, one of them, how do I deal with wearing glasses and whether I could read a map some day? and and and...

Nordic Walking 1:20:00 [1] 4.0 km (20:00 / km)

After spending the last 9 days in southern Florida, visiting the West side, Naples and Sanibel Island, we travelled for 3 days to the Everglades and saw tons of alligators, rented a canoe for 3 hours and saw 4 crocodiles and millions of birds. The last few days we spent on the Key West Islands enjoying the warmth, sunshine and the whitest of beaches.
It was striking how much my visual impairment improved during that week. Just looking at the big open sky, watching the cutest of pelicans dropping from the sky and the elegant herons and egrets hunt in the water, my brain had calmed down significantly. And I also realised that I could actually see very clearly, it is so hard to distinguish between the eye nerves which affect seeing and the brain nerves which affect movement and focussing of the eyes.

We came back through New York JFK between snowstorms on Monday morning, took the train to Bern, showered and went to work.
For the first time in over 2 weeks, I tried driving again. And doing a familiar route and on the hightway worked quite well. I would not have wanted a busy little town with lots of inputs coming from everywhere, that would have made it chaotic in my head.

I was teaching my core conditioning class (kind of slow) and went Nordic Walking with the seniors. I realised that I already had developed strategies of looking ahead for things I could hold on or put my poles as a pointer and people would not notice what I was doing ;-).
I'm happy it worked.
