Roadbiking 2:32:00 [2] 51.0 km (2:59 / km) +100m 2:57 / km

Road biking around the Lake of Thun with Christoph. Started in Steffisburg. Stopped at a bakery in Oberhofen :-).
1.09 to the Aare crossing in Interlaken and 1.23 back. Overcast, coolish.

Unspecified 1 [0]

Stayed home all day!! Watched the WOC relay life on the computer while sorting stuff in my office. Then grocery shopping and decided not to stress about squeezing in a run.
Watch Worlds in Track and Field in the eve. What a week with both Championships happening! Lots of good action.

Yoga 45:00 [2]

Teaching good, concentrated yoga class. The last hot day with temps over 30 degrees! And I have to work :-((.

Nordic Walking 1:00:00 [1] 6.5 km (9:14 / km)

Decided to do the Lombach loop as most of it was in the shade. Did some "Kneippen" in the creek: walking barefoot on rocks.

Hiking 3:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (15:00 / km) +1000m 10:35 / km

Went with a group of friends to the suspension bridge Trifftbrücke. It is the highest suspension bridge (120 m over the river and 170 m long!!). As only a small gondola goes the first 300 m up there, we would have to wait for 2 hrs to wait for our turn. So we hiked from the road!! Alice could not follow, in fact, she was so slow, I was exasperated as I had wanted to be back in Bern at least by 6.30 pm for one last swim in the Aare in this hot weather (they said that the summer would be over afterwards). We eventually made it to the top of the gondola and continued the next 500 m climb to the glacier and the bridge. Christine and I went ahead and waiter for 90 min for Doris and Alice to come. Did not cross the bridge as I have an intense fear of air underneath. Went by myself up to the Windegg hug rockclimbing up with some fixed ropes. From there all the way very steeplydown to the top of the gondola (I had caught up to the others before). We had anticipated that the people were all brought down, but no, there was another 90 min wait for our turn. Very frustrating. To top it off, we were stuck in a traffic jam on the way home for another 45 minutes. Not my kind of day. My patience was running very low.

Nordic Walking 1:00:00 [2] 6.5 km (9:14 / km) +250m 7:45 / km

Very hot day and decided not to run at lunch. No motivation. Was teaching 2 senior classes today and NW in the evening. We followed the shadows and went up to Schibe Fluh with a tremendous view, then on to the Lombach to dip our feet for some barefoot/cold water walking (Kneippen). Felt wonderful.

Strength 1:00:00 [1] 4.5 km (13:20 / km)

Was teaching the core strengthening class: we did abdominal and back strengthening exercises with 1 kg weights! Very effective and it gave me some sore muscles.
Senior NW to Goldswil and back following the shade as it was very hot again!
Note: a woman (Indian) had fallen off the 9th floor right in front of my room on top of a window and there was a lot of excitement with police, media and gossip. The hotel with its 18 floors is pre-destined as a means for suicide and it depresses me a lot each time.
