Orienteering 43:23 [4] 4.4 km (9:52 / km) +120m 8:41 / km

On spur of a moment decide to go the regional meet: have to build up my motivation and drive and it works mentally. Go fast from the start and build up speed towards the end. My goal is to learn to run cross-country again through the underbrush and the millions of blackberry thornbushes.
It was a great course, interesting and somewhat challenging and the woods were great to run in. I'd wished at the end to do it over again and blast through everything, this time I would surely have been faster. I know I can I know I can, I just have to "wake" up this mental and physical memory again (my injuries over the last 4 years have diminished that ability to race in orienteering at my full speed).
Simone Niggli's mother who is racing down in age category beat me again, grrrrrrr, but it was also her hometurf and homeclub that organised the meet.

Busy Saturday and for a change did not feel like running, so did not plan to do so. My right knee hurts quite a bit sometimes and suspect that a meniscus is hurt again :-(. Will try to hold off until late fall o get it fixed if I can.

First time this year running to Bleiki again. It took me a long time to break through that barrier and keep going after Ruedi's hut. I'm still not very fast. Same times or a little slower than last October :-(.
36.21 to Ruedi's hut; 9.31 to Bleiki, total 45.54 total up and 22.42 back to hotel.

Teach 2 yoga sessions and do some faster power moves for 20 minutes until the sweat was dripping!

Nordic Walking 1:10:00 [1] 6.0 km (11:40 / km) +250m 9:39 / km

Nordic Walking with the Thursday group to Ruedi's hut and the steep trail back down. Stay with the slowest person and feels good to just be outside.

Run with Manuela. Good time for a beginner.
My calves hurt from the pickups yesterday!! I obviously needed it before I will hit the pavement in a road race.

Run my usual Tuesday Lombach long-route in the rain. Try to push it to get a decent, fast time, but somehow, I am slower than I have been a month ago :-((. It's very puzzling, as if I timed myself with a different watch. Oh well.
On the way down, I am implementing 7 x 20 secs full speed pick-ups every full minute to train the turnover again. On the return, I am pickung-up the speed between the 2nd and the first bridge (3.42 min).
20.51 to first bridge; 8.47 all down for total of 29.39 and 27.23 back to hotel

Nordic Walking with the Tuesday group. Long walk today and we did the Lombach loop. Only few showed up in the rain, but it was a fast group non-the-less.

Teach my two Monday core classes; the abdominal and back exercises are quite tough, feel them again on Tuesday ;-)).
