Didn't have much time and did an uphill training again. I now reach the most upper point just below Montezillon in exactly 40 min. Nice, sunny day with the cold Northeast wind like we already had all week.

Tried to push this but couldn't get back under 2 hours. But the area and this loop is so beautiful. I love it.

Orienteering training 47:20 [3] 3.45 km (13:42 / km) +96m 12:02 / km

Did my first orienteering training in almost 7 months! And I felt it, mostly physically I couldn't move quite right through the woods and over rocks and roots. I felt like a hippo. I had no problem getting up the hill but my leg muscles wouldn't respond in a way I thought they should. It was an open forest, very beautiful up on Communal. The grass in the meadows was really, really high. Running through it was a bad idea as I didn't have a bounce in my feet (lost it some years ago and never found it back again :'-/).
Technically, I found those single trees and trees with that tiny control flag in the woods and was quite pleased with my technical orienteering.
I was so lonely up there as every hour or half-hour only 4 people would start, but after me was a 90-min-gap, so I saw nobody. These confinement-trainings are actually not much fun.
But, the ban has been lifted, now 30 people can be together for an O-training or bar-b-queing or whatever! Switzerland had "only" 15 or less new cases over the last week or so with 0 to 1 death/day. So the government is opening up faster than has been inticipated.
But in the stores it's still a strange feeling, the 2-m distances should still be maintained but there are a lot more people shopping and in the malls or town. We got so used to the calm on the roads but traffic is up significantly again.

Starting the run close to Sandra's place where I had parked my car and did my "usual" loop. But at once I felt how my muscles seemed more tired from yesterday than I anticipated. Basically, it was a bad idea to jog/run but I continued anyway because it felt good to be out and about.

The first Bike-O (training) event. It was fun at the beginning but through the second half I started to make mistakes in a neighborhood (think there were more new subdivisions that I couldn't go through) and then in the woods behind I got turned around with the traces of trails that I either couldn't see or the ones I took were a dead-end. It was very confusing and demotivating. Oh well.

After spending a sunny day in Berne yesterday to go on a ride with Urs's mom. It was really wonderful, very green and such a clear view of the Alps.
It was followed by an appetizer at his sister's with nephew and family. Home only by 8 pm, so no more training.
Today, I really wanted to go outside and do a run. Pushed myself especially on the pavement and di some running style strides which helped that I could pick up a little something of a little faster speed than always. Felt so heavy and couldn't lift my legs, but the time was not bad in the end.

Ride up to Sandra's place to pick-up Matti. Together we rode down the hill through the vineyards to the lake in Auvernier. We found a good place to grill and were waiting for Urs to come with Lena and the sausages and more. Matti and Lena tried the lake but it was too cold!
Later, riding home to Colombier and all going back up the hill to Sandra's place little later.

Didn't have much time so I thought I'd go the other way uphill for a change and would turn around when I'd be too slow. But it went just fine, went over and up to Trois Rods and then up the woods (Chassaigne) to the level of the castle of Rochefort. I made it up there in 52 min (!! :-)), decided to take the direct way down on the regular road. So I started at the one and only intersection in Rochefort and zoomed down home through Bôle and Colombier in 7 min! Wow, that was fast and no car passed me until I was almost home.

I have been having such a low-energy week, I couldn't be motivated partially also because of the rain, but then just didn't have the energy to go outside. So today, I called Sandra whether I could do some gardening (weeding and planting two rose bushes) and she agreed. So I biked up, did work a bit in the garden which I mustn't have done since last summer but was quite happy again. Followed this by a loop uphill and was quickly back home racing downhill. :-). What a bit of gardening and a bike ride can do! It's amazing therapy.
