Running 47:45 [3] 5.33 km (8:58 / km) +154m 7:50 / km

My usual loop; there's still lots of wood cutting going on but compared to last week, a lot of trees have been removed. Still had to "fight" for a short while over logs and branches when I took a different trail.

Mountain Biking 35:21 [3] 7.62 km (4:38 / km) +164m 4:11 / km

Up to Sandra's place, weeding for almost an hour and zooming back home as I was in a hurry. Still feel strong on the bike, wish to do a longer bike ride one of these days. Who knows?

Running 55:08 [3] 4.0 km (13:47 / km) +382m 9:20 / km

Running up from Pré-Devant to Mont Racine on a beautiful day. Had no idea how I would feel, the cold is slowly getting better. On the top I could have gone on, but Urs was there and we hiked back together to the car.

Mountain Biking 34:50 [2] 8.09 km (4:19 / km) +212m 3:49 / km

Busy day at home doing much needed housework, scrubbing the terrace among others in midst of our heat wave. Then rode up to Sandra's place to water the vegetables and flowers. This was a nice break, felt strong on the break and the hills.

Orienteering race 38:14 [5] 3.37 km (11:21 / km) +94m 9:57 / km

Did an O-race in the mountains on our way "back" after spending Asciuncion-Thursday (which is off over here) with Urs's fitness group celebrating also a birthday and having a party until late. So we spent the night and drove on the car-train through the Alps into the Wallis and up to beautiful Crans-Montana. We're having a spell of gorgeous weather, hot and clear with great views.
The orienteering went well, I was glad it was a bit a technical course in mountainous slope. Did just one mistake of 2 1/2 minutes but was leading my age class (F65 ;-/)) throughout the course. Yeah.

Running 54:39 [2] 6.12 km (8:56 / km) +126m 8:06 / km

Easy jog home from SaMa's house. After going to swimclass with Matti and his running the kids' run at the Tour de Canton, I went back with Sandra to their house.
After having caught a headcold and not worth for much yesterday, I recovered a bit today but still not enough prepared to run the last race of the Tour. It felt good to be able to jog a bit, though mostly downhill. We have beautiful, sunny and very warm days.

Yoga 1 [0]

Decided not to go to yoga as did not have the energy to stand up due to my cold, so I went to bed for a nap. Haven't done that in a while.

Bike Touring 2:20:33 [2] 36.59 km (3:50 / km) +115m 3:47 / km

Last day on our bike touring trip along the Euro6: reached Besançon by noon and caught a train to La Chaux-de-Fonds and rode downhill home from Chambrelien.
It was a beautiful leg along the Doubs, very scenic and beautiful.
Back to everyday chores and pleasures ;-), it was a very fun trip and quite easy.

Day 4 on our bike tour along the Doubs which we reached today shortly after Montbéliard. Before we were riding along the Rhine -Rhone canal and traversed the continental divide where water flowed north to the Atlantic and on other side south to the Mediterranean.
Today a sunny day (finally) w varied landscapes and some steep hills on detours when there was no trail along the water anymore. Fun day.

Went for a run at lunch in beautiful sunshine and very warm temps, so I wouldn't be tempted to run the race tonight.

A quick run while Lena was sleeping and Matti on "quiet time" to clear my head and and try to control some of my tiredness. Felt good to be out and jog easily (didn't feel easy though) but cleared my head a bit.

Ride up to the race.

Running race 1:21:53 [5] 10.86 km (7:32 / km) +267m 6:43 / km

#4 race du Tour du Canton; quite hard and long. It was all in the woods and it had a few sections on a forest road that went nothing but straight and almost flat. I don't do well on that (even though the time/km does not reflect it, but others are way faster). I'm always doing best after 3-4 km, and in those races so far it has always been uphill from the start, which is hard on me. As soon as we hit trails or downhills, I am able to pass people. Not many though, as I'm always at the tail end of the crowd of appr. 1500-1800 runners.
I felt good again at the end, but it was harder than the previous ones.
9 PM

Mountain Biking 19:00 [2] 4.22 km (4:30 / km) +14m 4:26 / km

Riding home in the dark on some roads but mostly through vineyards. I was cold and stopped by Sandra's house, put on another jacket with hood up under the helmet and Kathy (Marc's mom) fetched some gloves for me which helped a lot getting me home.

Running 1:33:09 [3] 10.86 km (8:34 / km) +275m 7:37 / km

Exploratory run for Wednesday's Tour du Canton race #4. It felt long and took along an orienteering map, so was distracted with map reading sometimes; also stopped a few times, once I asked an orienteer where their center was (for the UBOL relay happening the same time).
It has long stretches on forest roads which were quite boring and flat; still, there are also a few sections on smal trails but not as many as last year.
Overcast and rainy today, lots of mud in the woods except on those forest roads.

Mountain Biking 1:16:46 [3] 13.42 km (5:43 / km) +366m 5:02 / km

The only beautiful day this week and for a few more days, so I went out and mostly uphill on the bike: felt tired sometimes then strong at other times. Still a little tired from Wednesday.
Still trying to find the most comfortable and least steep way through the vineyards, got stuck at a wall once; then found a way through a small tunnel under two train tracks to go where I wanted to end up.
Further up took lots of single trails and then did half the loop on a small trail I'm usually running on. Lots of fun, I like that challenge.

Running 1:10:36 [5] 9.75 km (7:14 / km) +212m 6:32 / km

Was really happy with my race. Was quite worried about the last 4 km flat and boring where one could see how far it still was, but counted my steps (double steps) and did 13 times 100 steps once right foot, then left foot. I also did not look up but just stared a few meters in front of me and it actually worked that by focusing on either right or left first count, my stride was more determined (and faster?), but I also came into a kind of flow and it passed quite quickly. Good run for me.

Running 1:19:37 [3] 8.93 km (8:55 / km) +204m 8:00 / km

Went to Le Landeron to check out Wednesday's next Tour du Canton race; had no idea where it would go, definitely up the hill which it did, but then it went all the way back downhill to the next town, Cressier. From there it remained in the flats on little paved roads, eventually getting to the canal between the lakes of Biel and Neuenburg back to the old town of Le Landeron. It rained twice on me, I stopped quite often to "sightsee": a zoo high up, the beautiful views, an alley and an old overgrown fountain. I had most problems with my aching musles and legs on the flat and walked several times. I tried just to enjoy being out and not getting upset at my snail pace. Another day of rest will hopefully help.
