Jogging 1:07:08 [2] 6.84 km (9:49 / km) +99m 9:09 / km

Went for an exploratory jog in the dark, first, it rained a bit. My stomach still felt so full and not wanting to digest my lunch. I thought some activity would do me good. Had to climb a fence at one point as I ended in somebody's orchard and another time, I looked for a trail in a meadow and eventually went back to the dirt road. Felt good to be out.

Hiking 1:16:19 [1] 4.21 km (18:08 / km) +225m 14:19 / km

Hike with Urs near Lugano while visiting with my brother's family. I started out jogging, but as the area was unfamiliar to me/us, I waited for Urs to discuss the situation and eventually, I just stayed with him. We were too late in the day as the sun did not reach that side of the mountain any longer which was disappointing as we came to bathe in the beautiful sunshine. We went cross-country over a hilltop which was fun and caught the last rays of sunshine and enjoyed the great views from there. But we were slow.

Mountain Biking 1:36:12 [2] 22.3 km (4:19 / km) +419m 3:57 / km

A very beautiful, sunny and warm day. I decided to get on the mountain bike and did an exploratory ride following the sun. There were lots of people out walking. What an incredible Christmas Day!

Running 1:03:20 [2] 6.5 km (9:44 / km) +149m 8:44 / km

After 2 nights of little sleep as Lena was not feeling well, she seemed to recover a bit and slept throughout the morning. Sandra went home with Matti, and I brought Lena early in the afternoon. Then I went on a slow run from her place, still in a somewhat sleep-deprived mode and checking out new trails and connections. Once place I got quite lost (I had an orienteering map with me), but eventually found the trail I was looking for. Slow going.

Hiking 24:24 [1] 1.36 km (17:56 / km) +37m 15:48 / km

Easy hike with Urs above the fog and above La Chaux-de-Fonds. We found another very beautiful and gentle area to hike, bike, run and maybe if we ever get snow, cross-country ski.

Running 1:02:23 [2] 5.92 km (10:32 / km) +92m 9:46 / km

Slow jog to check out my right knee after I tweaked it last wednesday. Was still tender, so I took it very slowly. Some jogging through meadows without any trails. Other trails were wonderfully rugged. Felt really good to be out again.
Too bad, we just had our sandwiches before I started running, so felt it and I was thirsty too. But sometimes, one has to catch the opportunity when there's the chance to run.

Running 1:00:25 [3] 7.11 km (8:30 / km) +78m 8:04 / km

Went out in drizzle for "my" lake loop. Good beginning, but legs felt heavier and heavier after 2 k. Don't know why.
Also, my right knee hurt more today; I tweaked it while sleeping and limped in the morning. Then it disappeared and I forgot about it until in middle of the run. Inside and outside right meniscus. At home, I tweaked it again while standing and wanting to turn, and this now really hurt. Hmmm, hopefully nothing split off again :-(. Will rest it a little.

Running 43:19 [3] 5.01 km (8:39 / km) +153m 7:30 / km

Cold run; the "train by racing" on Saturday must have worked a little, I have never been able to run this loop under 45 min. Great. Goal eventually would be to do it under 40 min.

Running race 40:10 [0] 6.04 km (6:39 / km) +46m 6:25 / km

Ran my first race in a long time again. La Trotteuse-Tissot in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Start at 5:15 pm w all the women's classes only. A funny feeling, but there were still too many of us as in the first loop I had to stop and wait at different bottlenecks. Had to do 3 loops, 2 k each. Each loop had 2 fairly taxing short inclines.
Was happy with my time and was not last in my age class or of all women ;-). 6 out of 7 in age class, they are wicked fast!

We still have beautiful weather, warm and no snow on the near mountains. However, this is often accompanied with fog in the lower areas which can be thick. But we can escape to the sunshine in relatively short time now.

Running 53:51 [3] 6.85 km (7:52 / km) +40m 7:38 / km

Went to the Planeyse and did 2x1k on the soft track (6:10 ; 5.59! :-)). Then ran around mostly on grassy meadows to build a bit of endurance strenght, something I have been lacking to do over the last years. Boy, my quads and hamstrings felt like jello towards the end.
Running in the fog, grrr, our almost daily companion now in December.

Running 1:33:59 [3] 8.8 km (10:41 / km) +352m 8:54 / km

Escaped the fog at home up to La Tourne with beautiful sunshine. Ran up to Mont Racine on mostly snow-free trails/roads. However, some sections did have icy spots and hard-packed snow which slowed me down a lot. But very fun run.
Where's the snow?? There was some earlier in the month and usually this area is full of cross-country ski tracks. Well, running in that marvellous area is still great. On the long ridge of Mont Racine, there was an incredible view from Mont Blanc to the Bernese Alps. However, below over the middle land area, there's a thick fog-soup where we all live in :-/(. Glad it doesn't take far to escape.

Running 44:45 [3] 4.93 km (9:05 / km) +157m 7:50 / km

Quick run from Bôle on my loops while Urs looked after the kids on the playground, then playing in the sandbox of the longjump and resting in the grass enjoying the sun.

Running 56:22 [3] 6.95 km (8:07 / km) +89m 7:37 / km

Did the lake-loop which I like a lot especially the part on the small trail along the lake and inland along the Areuse river which is so pretty. Ending up running through the wineyards and up to the Planeyse.
Doing the loop this way around seems harder as there is a constant slow uphill starting from the lake. Found places to shortcut so I can't compare to other times.
After yesterday's sunny day, we had an overcast, sometimes rainy day, but still warm!

Hiking 1:08:16 [1] 3.65 km (18:42 / km) +94m 16:34 / km

Nice stroll with Urs above the fog, very warm and sunny with excellent views from Mont Blanc to the Eastern Alps.
Before we were looking after Matti and Lena in the snow, first Matti for the first time on skis which didn't last very long, then just running, jumping, falling, rolling and more games in the snow. Lena looked on an squealed once in a while. She also enjoyed playing with pine cones and tasting them occasionally. We were sitting on a bare spot bathing our faces in the sun.

Running 42:33 [3] 5.0 km (8:30 / km) +23m 8:19 / km

Went up to the Planeyse (still had strong winds), and jogged around the peripherie before I headed to the track. Did not feel very strong first, but was suprised that I could run the 1 k in 6:15. Not bad for the long break I had.
