Fun first run w Urs in fox run park. Still very jet lagged and enormously tired. And oh boy, did I feel the altitude! Actually, started out from marlyn's house w Sandra, then she did her own thing after we met up w Urs.

Nice bike ride, pushed it a bit. Thought I was getting caught in a thunderstorm as raindrops were falling at the beginning, but then it was ok except the last 10 k I rode into gusty head(West) wind.

Nice ride with Urs around and almost over the Belpberg. Had an ice cream halfway. After the Rubigenbridge, he took the left side of the Aare back home, and I went to the right side to check on a new possible route that I would like to take in the future.
The sun is back and with it some more normal temps. Nice!

Fun run from SandraandMarc's place after I had seen the dentist (only for a control), and my head still felt little uptight and strange. Must have taken the wrong trail one point and ended up following the train tracks.
It's been probably a half year since I ran here and really felt the difference in as I climbed much easier and generally felt stronger. A very good feeling that my fitness is coming back.

Ran up and around the Gurten. Started out in rain which stopped, had a little sunshine and raced down before the next downpour hit me. It was very cold.
I am glad when those 4 ice saints, Pankratius, Bonifazius, Servazius and tomorrow the "Cold Sophie" will be over. It is an old farmer's saying to not plant some of the more delicate vegetables and flowers until those days have passed. This year, it seems to be accurate.

@Sandra: no, it was not that bad. Somehow, my computer sometimes goes into this endless loop of one letter. There's nothing I can do to stop it, so I have to turn it off. And I have no idea what's causing it.

Orienteering race 15:53 [5] 2.49 km (6:23 / km) +1m 6:22 / km

Sprint-O race in Sempach. Another stupid and very annoying mistake: Went from No 11 to 12, the runner ahead of me punched in, while I was studying the next leg and started running again to No 13 when I noticed the wrong number and realised I had not punched the 12. It was a "long" leg, so I hurried back fuming at myself. It cost me 2.33 min and the victory. I was bummed. Just a fraction of a second I was focusing on how to do the next leg, and it had happened. With 17 controls many legs were only 20-30 secs apart and the focus had to be high.

The Swiss Long-O Champs. After helping, I also went to the start and it turns out I was too slow at the beginning, made several route choice mistakes and then a bigger error of appr. 2 min. In the middle part I had the best times on several legs but another route choice mistake cost me 2nd place. Very annoying. It was a good course and we could use lots of trails (for a change in Switzerland!), but after intense rains there were also lots of muddy trails which was a little bit by chance that one chose the correct route. But the obvious mistakes I should have avoided.
I am not sure that I could have caught the first gal as she is a very strong biker and improved on the trails quite a lot. Maybe I still felt my bike training from Thursday which might have been too much and my legs were still too tired. Who knows?
But it was a beautiful sunny day.

A "quick" longish bike ride after work because I wanted to get on the bike once before the Long Swiss Bike-O Champs on Saturday.
Really pushed and felt my calves a lot. After 1:10 I felt a certain fatigue and could not push as much.

Easy long run on a grey very cool day. Starting out with Urs, he took another way home while I kept on going to the Auguetbridge, then decided to go little further upstream and back home. Easy pace, no pushing it. Still sore quad muscles.

Somehow the moon and the stars must be out of alignment for me: slept badly for 3 nights in a row, that is, I can't fall asleep until 3 am or later. This MUST pass soon. Too tired to run or exercise.
